19Villamira Heritage Hotel, Puducherry, in the Whitetown area, a few streets from the beach and promenade. A quaint small hotel with beautifully kept old style furniture. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful. This hotel has a small lift. Rooms had the usual kettle, tea/coffee/sugar sachets, shampoo, toilet roll etc. 2 bath towels provided without having to ask I have positive but also negative experiences to share. Our first night we were given a nice room, but with a small window that looked into the stairwell and who's door opened directly into the dining area. This was far from ideal as the thin curtain on the door showed bright light through. It was 5.45am when the consistent talking and noise outside the room started. The hotel advertises soundproofing, which is totally untrue. The noise from guests talking, tv in other rooms, and traffic had already kept me awake until 11.45pm. The breakfast was ok, toast or Indian menu, no cornflakes. We requested a room change for the second night. The new room's door opened onto a small landing and staircase with 2 doors to other rooms. This was so much better than stepping directly into a dining area. We also had a balcony overlooking the street and 2 windows. Other than dogs barking we had a quite sleep. Both days husband had a short hot shower, but when it was my turn only cold water remained. I would recommend this hotel but suggest avoid the rooms leading direct into the dining area and reception.

It is a Heritage Boutique hotel situated in the streets of white town. Proximity to beach and all shops are just at walking distance and It was perfect for a family stay. It is not like a hotel but rather more like a homestay. Service by the staff is very nice. Property and room itself has got a homely feel attached to it. Perfect place to stay with family.

This facility is centrally located, best suited for bag packers, near to beaches, French colony and good eateries. We stayed here recently, was a decent experience, a safe place being in a Residential colony. Manager Rajnikanth was highly obliging for our early check in and late check out requests. The breakfast was very homely and the rooms though were cozy but clean enough. We had a pleasant and a safe stay here, we'll always recommend for those who visit Pondy.
