The property is located in front of the lake. Immersed in nature it is very suggestive.
We arrived around 6pm and unfortunately the pool closed at 6.30pm so we didn't have time to test it. They offer free spa service but massages are subject to charges.
The restaurant is well stocked with alcohol, you can eat discreetly buffet-style cuisine, both typical Asian and international, for around €15 per person. Breakfast is also a buffet; you can find sweet/savory products and freshly cooked eggs.
Our room (deluxe double) was very nice, on two levels: in the lower part the bathroom has a particular concept. A sliding door takes you directly into the room with a half roof covered only by a net. All very beautiful but impractical and above all there is the risk of finding many insects, as in our case.
In the upper part there is the bedroom, very comfortable.
The upholstery is not entirely clean and this contrasts with the entire structure.

Wir waren auf unserer Rundreise 2 Nächte Vorort. Das Hotel liegt Landschaftlich sehr schön und die Anlage ist super. Wir hatten ein tolles Apartment (401). Es ist alles vorhanden, Föhn, Kühlschrank, Klima, Wasserkocher etc. Das Personal super freundlich und ein Mitarbeiter lernt von sich aus Deutsch über Bücher und Internet, Respekt! Das Frühstück und abends das Buffet ist toll! Die Bar mit Billardtisch ebenfalls. Das Gym ist gut, leider funktionierte die Klima nicht oder wir waren zu doof🤷♂️….egal schwitzen tut gut. Ich wünsche mir nur zwei Stühle mit einem kleinen Tisch vor der Tür oder eine Bank, ich möchte draußen sitzen nicht im Apartment.

My friend and me have spent one night in hotel during our trip in Sri Lanka. We were very happy as we have seen how hotel was beautiful. Room is in cosy cottage very comfortable. BathroM was marvelous with open space inside. From the terrace we had a beautuful view on the lake. Staff was very kind and polite..we used the pool and it was wonderful relax after the whole day visiting Polonaruwa....food was excellent. We hope that we would have ocasion to come back one day and stay few days in Deer Park. Two golden age ladies from Croatia

I visited Deer Park Giritale with my family and had a fantastic experience. Since it was a long weekend ( Sep 15th and 16th) all the rooms were fully booked. Although we initially requested a pool view rooms which is closer to restaurant it was not communicated properly and we were given rooms bit far from the restaurant and lobby, which was difficult to walk to my parents and we couldn't change it at the last minute. However, Mr. Joseph ( Hotel Manager) and Harshaka ( Guest Coordinator)found a good solution and they manage to allocate a nearby rooms for us to enjoy our stay. The rooms were clean and of high quality, and the food was delicious. Overall, it was a lovely experience with beautiful view facing Giritale Lake. I highly recommend this place because of the view, food and good customer experience.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The rooms were comfortable, with all the amenities you could ask for, and the view of the lake was absolutely stunning. It’s the perfect spot for relaxing and taking in the natural beauty. The food was excellent, though I do remember the menu being a bit more extensive back in 2012, but it’s still delicious. The service was warm and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful escape by the lake.

Nice view in front of Girithale lake.Rooms ok,Staff including the manager very good and friendly.Food good and clean.Be careful staying out side with food,as soon as we got there a simian took my box of food. He ran to the tree ,after eating dropped the box .Closer to Polonnaruwa and Kaudulla.We enjoyed the trip so much staying at this hotel.Highly recommended to anyone who wishes to visit Polonnaruwa.
