It is seriously inconsistent with the online ratings, which is equivalent to the level of simple homestays in China. % The hotel is located in an alley, and there is no scenery around. % The WiFi signal in the room is as slow as a snail. It has been repaired twice, but there is no improvement. % The room is small and old, with two small beds 90 cm wide and no desk for a computer. % The door lock of the balcony was broken when I checked in. % The bathroom is very small and the facilities are quite simple. % The details are terrible, such as there is only one socket at the head of the two beds, let alone a USB socket. Do not enter, avoid the pit!

1. House prices are seriously high in the off-season, about twice as much as similar prices in the surrounding area. 2. The refund process is delayed and takes 1 week. 3. The bolts of the bathroom towel rack are loose and the rack falls down. 4. Digital TV always has skynet loops popping up advertisements blocking the screen, and the staff can’t do anything to turn them off. 5. There are too few lamps in the room and the overall brightness is seriously insufficient. It does not match the specifications of the suite and is not suitable for children's living. 6. There is an exclusive lawn outside the suite balcony, which is not bad.

After an exhilarating but exhausting 4 day Poon Hill trek it was wonderful to return to the luxury of Temple Trees. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with great extras such as fruit and biscuits. They also helpfully looked after half our luggage while we were trekking. Finally the free airport transfer to the airport ensured a smooth and stress free stay.

From outside it looks like other hotels in the city but you see the difference as soon as you enter. Spacious and lush greenery with great pool seems to be small world of its own amidst nearby lake and busy lakeside market. Great access to restaurants and activities. Staffs were welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was good with good options.

The resort is well located but quite cramped. The entrance is that of a dingy two star hotel. We were stuck there for three nights due to Nepal floods, which compounded the agony. Generally the staff is well mannered, but the experience was horrendous as the resort allowed a bunch of noisy Chinese tourists to jump into the swimming pool at 2a.m. in the night. They kept shouting and splashing to the utter dismay of other guests trying to sleep. I had to call the reception and ask them if i should call the police myself. After one hour of drama the hotel staff finally got them out. All this while the resort manager sumit Bhandari was no where to be seen. Next day when i asked for meeting him on breakfast, he was not in the resort and called me at 10 a.m. and expressed his regret, but mentioned that they can’t do much for such tourist’s actions. Summit seemed a clearly lackadaisical guy with high degree of disdain for customers. Next night again those Chinese tourists were extremely loud over their dinner in the restaurant and one could hear them from one’s room. If the resort manager wanted this should had been curbed, but he chose to look the other way. Horrible experience is an understatement.

Imagine being stuck in another country at the fag end of a family holiday, when questions of disavowing near and dear ones are being openly discussed. It happened to us during our recent trip to Nepal, when terrible weather shut down the Pokhara airport, thereby delaying our return to India by two days. Thankfully, we were ensconced in Temple Tree Resort & Spa, in the very capable hands of staff such as Astha and others, which is the prime reason why we could finally leave with our sense of fun and familial bonds intact. Located a stone's throw from the Phewa lake (no you can't see the lake from the resort, but you can stroll to it), beautifully landscaped and equipped with wonderfully designed rooms allowing for cross-ventilation and ever-smiling staff allowing you to find inner peace, this resort is ideal for a leisurely stay in Pokhara. The complimentary breakfast spread was large, with the staff at hand to cater to special requests (sandwiches with nothing, I repeat nothing, other than cheese for the kids please, thank you). The chefs are excellent, getting the taste right for cuisine from different parts of the world. And a nice bar with barstools overlooking the pool. Expensive? Yes, at least for us. But hey, sometimes you need to go out and indulge yourself.
