French, run away!!! if you don't speak German! And bring cash!!! The owner speaks German and only German! Gets annoyed when you don't understand, doesn't even try a "good?" To know if the stay is going well... Madam is commercial but not commercial, besides she prefers cash and from the first day she took more than expected for the tourist tax by not giving me back what she owed me in change. That set the tone. The hotel is not worth a French 4 star. Not even a bottle of water in the fridge when we arrived (charged 5 euros!!!), not even a kettle, tea or coffee. The breakfast is complete but not crazy either (no pastries, spread, fresh fruit juice for example). It is served from 8am IF madame has opened... It's all for the money! The rental of bath towels is charged at 3 euros / day and per person (to be brought back the same evening in order to collect as much as possible ...), the restaurant / bar of the hotel charges excessive prices (4 euros for a 25ml coke, 22 euros for a plate of 5 slices of ham and cheese, 5 euros for a small plate of frozen fries, 8 euros for a cocktail with alcohol during happy hour and 7 euros without alcohol 🥳😓 etc.) So of course there is no rush at the bar ... There is no place to go out nearby, you have to take transport and nothing is offered to liven up the evenings. The room: The sea view from the balcony (at an angle) was a little spoiled by the presence of a kind of very noisy generator right next to the balcony. This can be problematic for falling asleep. Especially since there are no shutters or blackout curtains. Not a great spring mattress, low quality hygiene products... The positive points: -The sea at the bottom of the hotel -cleanliness - The great kindness of Sylvia the employee who unlike the owner cares about the well-being of ALL travelers and not just those who speak German... A big thank you to her🥰 To conclude, I do not recommend this hotel to the French. There are hundreds on the street that have their beach, you will find a much better welcome.

Small family-run hotel located directly on the beach in Podstrana. 4-star rating excessive for services and structure. 3 stars would be more appropriate. Decent rooms, in my case with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Quiet and well soundproofed. Parking available but limited. There is almost never anyone at the reception, we were welcomed by a very kind and helpful cleaning lady. The stay was satisfactory anyway. Decent restaurant but with high prices (in reality the whole area has high prices). Swimming pool, sauna, some exercise equipment, sunbeds and umbrellas available. Abundant international breakfast included in the price

Probably the worst hotel / bar ever visited. Asked immediately whether cars were accepted and was told yes then at the end of the meal (which was only salad and was awful) was told that cards are not accepted. No wonder it was not busy as the staff (especially the manager with blonde hair) and service and food were atrocious! Was told we needed to leave passports and go to an ATM we were on a beach in beachwear for Gods sake! Saw bad reviews in this place before we arrived however thought we would try for ourselves but the reviews are justified and it’s worse than rubbish! Ideally sort yourselves out as it’s a beautiful location!

Our whole vacation was ruined by the elderly and very grumpy German owner. She stopped us from having cheese and biscuits a family (with no noise being made over normal conversation) on the terrace one evening, despite the hotel restaurant being closed and the terrace deserted. We had an evening flight back, but she insisted that after our 9am check-out that our hire car was removed from the car park despite there being plenty of spaces. And there was no public parking in the vicinity at all. This meant we had to go straight to the airport and spent the last day waiting in Departures and not on the beach. Anyone wearing a bathing suit walking through the hotel were severely reprimanded and told to cover up (even kids) - and this is a seaside hotel on the beach! Despite us speaking no German, she continued to address the family in German (despite the hotel being in Croatia) and became visibly frustrated when we didn't understand! The air-conditioning in the rooms barely worked and hence it was very difficult to sleep as the rooms never properly cooled. The hotel's position on the beach is lovely, but the beach bar served very average food / drinks at prices that were above what one would pay at one of the surrounding more upmarket beach restaurants. The hotel seems to be caught in the past, where politeness and customer service were "extra / optional" at many hotels! Perhaps the best way to summarize is as Faulty Towers located in Croatia, where they Basil is a 90 year old German lady - but much more angry / grumpy!

Beautiful place for dinner, but slow and unprofessional service, long wait for ordered food, disgusting fries and fried fish. I do not recommend. We were happy to find a free table right on the beach, but we were very disappointed. There was only one young man serving, quite incompetent

We stopped by at the Beach bar Sunce and we will never go there. We ordered Aperol Spitz, virgin Pina Colada and Toko Rosso. I can not describe how bad the first drinks were and we had to wait long time even we were the only customers there. I have retuned my drink to the guy in the bar and explained to him that it tasted like a water with a touch of orange. He took my drink back, but at the end they wanted money for that. Later we red recommendations on Google - I wish, that I did it before - people were really disappointed. Stay away!

Stayed here recently for several nights, English speaking (not British) visitors. Immediately on arrival, the owner who is Croatian/German demands you speak in German or else. No customer service, no proper welcome. Grabbed our passports, photocopied and then chucked room key, no direction to room left to it. Rooms are incredibly small (see photos), barely room to even open/close a suitcase unless you literally put it on the bed! Air con is woeful, does not cool the room at all and we ended up having to leave the balcony door open at night. Cooler/fridge didn't work beyond slightly cooling suncreams. Breakfast is terrible. Does not run 7-10 as advertised, instead 8-10 which is bad if you have trips planned to get to early morning. Very poor selection, eggs galore if you like that - fried eggs or scrambled eggs only as hot items, plus a few random yoghurts. But be warned, if you get down to breakfast too late, everyone before you will have taken everything and the rude German woman is reluctant to cook any more. Overall breakfast felt incredibly tight: watered down 'juice', bread, cereals and random cake slices. After 2 mornings we were done. German woman glares at you randomly and generally makes you feel uncomfortable. Ended up totally ignoring her for the rest of our stay, incredibly rude considering recent damage of covid and importance of tourism's return?! Best part of our stay was using the beach, great location for walking down the beach and plenty of restaurants and bars in both directions. Bizarre set-up at the hotel, owner appeared to 'open' her beach bar but was never there and never had any customers we saw. On check out, the hotel demanded cash in Euros, or to pay in card with their marked up Euro exchange rate, or a 3rd option to pay Kunas by card. Never experienced such a strange way to settle the bill - who would carry hundreds of Euros around? recommend paying for your stay in advance via an agent/booking site! Be warned many facilities are advertised but totally misleading: There is no 24 hour reception - 95% of the time reception was unmanned. There is no spa/sauna - this is additional charge, and incredibly small sized. There is no properly working air con There is no bar/lounge.

We spent 8 days here, a very nice hotel, right on the beach, with loungers and parasols available. Mira is always trying to fulfill all wishes. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels were changed if necessary. All in all a nice holiday, we would gladly go back
