Stayed for one night to attend a family event the following day. The king size bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp sheets and soft pillows. Good selection of teas and coffees in the room. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent including the service. Maisie was very friendly, attentive and professional as were all the staff. My only criticism was at breakfast it was very clear in daylight that the restaurant needs a bit of maintenance.

Stayed for a work trip this week. I am lucky enough to work with my other half so stayed In one of the super king rooms. The bed was so comfy, the rooms were lovely, good arrangement of teas and coffees, the over night stay was great. We ate at the pub for dinner and the food and service was fabulous. Would highly recommend

Super friendly staff, super comfy bed. Great breakfast. Plenty of parking. Nice to have a decent coffee machine in our room. We had an evening meal in the pub and the food was excellent and the service was first class. Really enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Large room with french doors to cobbled area. Huge bed VERY comfortable. Nice decor. Lovely staff, especially Alice whom I had to complain to - as an old building without double glazing and no heating in room both nights of our stay, including towel rail in bathroom, as I didn't raise this till Sat evening extra blankets and fresh towels were provided as staff unsure why it wasn't working. Just a few steps away is the the pub/restaurant where breakfast is served. My partner enjoyed his full English breakfast and there was a dairy intolerance alternative of Oat milk. Booking is advised for evening sittings and it was very busy, all tables filled. Great menu if a little pricey - £19 for a small fish pie. Excellent food though and Chef was very kind in adapting a crab starter without onion.

I stayed here because I had an appointment to view a house not far away. I was welcomed into the pub, and shown my room which was conveniently in a separate building. I stayed for 2 nights and booked breakfast and dinner for both days. The room was large and comfortable, with an outside area (it was not the weather to use it unfortunately). The only downside was the A379 outside, which was noisy in the morning. However, with the hotel being on the main route meant that getting to anywhere nearby was super-easy. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the dinners were good.

The Rose and Crown is a great place to stay in an excellent location, with a lovely, friendly team. I was met with a warm greeting and shown where I was staying. The accommodation is set slightly away from the pub so you can come and go as you please and it provides a degree of privacy but still handy for food and drink. My room was clean and nicely decorated with tea, coffee and biscuits and a nice en suite. The breakfasts are really great with something for everyone. Parking is easy and free. I will certainly be coming back!

Great people, very good food and drink and a very pleasant welcome from Leo making for a relaxed start to our trip. A car park with reserved spaces for residents makes for an easy arrival. The rooms are very pleasant, perfectly clean and well equipped with very comfortable beds. There is some road noise so for light sleepers it's best to ask for a rear facing room. The rooms themselves are in an old Police House so are all different. Buses nearby to Plymouth and Torbay areas add to the convenience and a garage opposite is a good landmark when arriving. Well located for Plymouth, Dartmoor and NT properties nearby.

My husband and I spent the evening and an overnight stay here last weekend. Lovely warm welcome and shown to our room by one of the staff which was nice. The food was lovely, especially the scotch egg starters! Couldn't fault any of the food that we had. The room was clean and comfortable and even though on a main road, still able to sleep with windows open overnight, limited traffic after about midnight. We are hoping to return soon

We stayed four nights in the Garden Room and loved every minute. The staff are always smiling and so friendly. Food and atmosphere is lovely. Real English pub which we thoroughly enjoyed and we will definitely be back! Shame about the local shop staff who refused to accept our Scottish notes, refusing to accept that they were legal tender! This had nothing to do with the Rose and Crown though whose staff sorted us out and changed our money for us without hesitation. Can't thank the staff enough for making our stay so good,
