Gold Playa del Ingles - Adults Only

Fabulous fortnight at this exceptional hotel. We arrived with notice we had a free upgrade to a south facing room on the 7th floor which was fabulous! Great breakfast choice and the freshly squeezed orange juice just keeps pouring! Exceptionally clean hotel facilitated by a keenly motivated staff.

Hotel was absolutely great. Funky decor, fabulous pool area (with relaxing music) and central lobby seating area. Rooms have a mini kitchen which we loved. Close to the beach and Dunes of Maspalomas. Staff were excellent. Adult only so a lovely chilled atmosphere, especially around the pool. There was a whole mix of ages staying at the hotel.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Grand Canaria… it was very enjoyable! The weather was mid 20s and we were able to be out by pool and on the beach. This hotel - Gold by Marina at Playa del Ingles - was great.. our junior suite was very spacious and comfortable.. the rooms and public areas were bright, welcoming and spotless… they were cleaned each day and we could have our towels changed as often as we wanted. The room had a mini kitchen, which was very useful for a quick coffee or for storing fruit and water in the fridge etc. We were bed & breakfast and there was a very good selection of hot and cold foods, fruit and breads & cakes etc available at breakfast time. The daily cooking station offered omelettes, bacon, eggs, pancakes and waffles freshly made for your breakfast. A machine in the dining room allowed you to squeezed your own fresh orange juice and there was a hot drinks station offering a selection of coffee and teas. We ate at the poolside bar at lunchtime a couple of days and the food was really tasty, fresh salads, fish freshly cooked, chips and potatoes. There were burgers and toasties etc available too, along with ice creams etc should you want them. The facilities at the hotel were excellent… the public areas were fresh, clean and welcoming… The walls were all freshly painted bright white and the complementary colours & soft furnishings made for a really attractive surrounding. It is obvious that the management are fastidious in the upkeep of the hotel.. we noticed that they even touched up the paintwork on one of the staircases one morning. All staff were very polite and welcoming. Bright colourful decor greeted you as you entered the hotel and the general feeling was very relaxed and quiet. Check-in was quick and informative and we were offered a complimentary drink as we checked in! There are two pools and ample, very comfortable, sun-beds available at all times. A fresh supply of pool towels was always available on a ‘help yourself’ basis. This was lovely as damp towels could just be dropped into a laundry trolley and new towels collected! As with the interior of the hotel, the outside is pristine and cleaned every evening and morning. There are a variety of places to sunbathe around the pool area with very comfortable bright mattress-type sun-beds. There was a ‘meet and greet’ on our second evening at 6-30pm in the main foyer of the hotel, to which all the guests were invited. The hotel manager personally introduced himself to all . He chatted individually with us about our holiday and welcomed us to the hotel. There were snacks and drinks provided at this… a lovely touch! This hotel is def worth a visit, its modern and bright decor was refreshing and relaxing. The location was very close to the local amenities, supermarket, shops and bars within 5 mins walk of the hotel. This hotel still does everything right. It is simple and not pretentious but the detail is there in everything they do. Well thought out rooms with fantastic bed and great shower, little extras like kettle and fridge and thoughtful touches like complimentary water and a bottle of wine as a returning guest, gowns and slippers and decent balcony with comfy furniture. Good hanging space with PROPER hangers (not the 'hotel' ones - I mean, who steals these!?) and decent overall layout too. The only negative is the safety deposit box was chargeable, something I didnt expect or like. The property itself is well maintained, very clean and with lifts that work well and are not congested (which can be a problem in other hotels). The pool area is great and very comfy, the pool is great (being heated) and the sauna and Jacuzzi are lovely facilities. Housekeeping was very efficient and good and all staff were very helpful and friendly with online check-in making the process easy. You cannot fault the hotel location being between Yumbo and the beach and the area is quiet yet close to bars, restaurants and supermarket. I highly recommend Gold and it remains my go-to hotel in this resort! p.s. please provide more 'do not disturb' signs, as everyone steals them from other rooms and we had ours taken!

The hotel check in was quick and friendly after a half hour journey from the airport the rooms are spacious with a small kitchen, the pool area is very fresh and funky with an Ibiza feel the drinks and food at the restaurant was excellent with great service although €40 for two breakfasts is excessive, The hotel is well located 10 minutes walk to the Yumbo centre ok if you want to drink and eat in what looks like a derelict shopping centre, 10 minute walk to the sea front that is very steep coming back lots of bars and restaurants Blackpool by the sea for me. Melonares is a 15 minute bus trip costing €1.20 upmarket feel with nice bars and restaurants + shopping, overall very nice stay enjoyed the hotel, just one point we stayed 9/2/25 if you were the couple who the lady was topless which isn’t what I agree with and that’s my personal opinion who was with a guy who got very intimate whilst sunbathing, please don’t it’s disrespectful and unnecessary, please go to your room and spare use the embarrassment
