The best thing about the hotel is its location and staff, always ready to help. And of course the breakfasts are great. The beach is municipal in 1 minute walk, every morning they part. Sun loungers 6 euros one, from umbrellas of use zero, if only to hang a bag. The hotel itself is not even 4 stars. Maybe 20 years ago and was 5, but not now. But the good news is that in January 2023 it will be closed for renovations, we can hope to return to the renovated hotel.

It's been 15 years since my last trip to Tenerife and the comments below are based on international five star hotel experiences around the globe. So here's what I experienced on this reservation:- Positives 1.Check in / out process fast and professional. 2.Direct beach access via the pool area. 3.Breakfast buffet with internal and external seating choices was excellent. 4.Evening entertainment between 21:00 and 23:00 Hrs was good. Negatives 1. Allocated R3101 upon arrival and entered to find the bath tub was extremely dirty and required solvent cleaning to remove large accumulation of water scale dirt around plug area (Approx 200mm in dia). Root cause of this problem is a leakage from the shower hose connection which remains to be fixed. 2. TV was on and could not be turned off. This was rectified by Maintenace changing the batteries within the remote control. 3. Sink plunger mechanism was broken and I was shown how to remove the plug on a daily basis once housekeeping cleaned the room. 4. Locking mechanism on the balcony sliding door is broken and extremely hard to open / closed. 5. Only one, yes one pool towel provided / guest at the pool via a plastic card that you are required to exchange at the pool towel bar. If you forget this card it's a return trip to the room. General Travel Tips. 1. Taxi from TFS Airport to hotel cost 25 Euro each way. 2. Hard Rock Cafe located next door (£££). 3. Great Italian, Thai, Japanese and British restaurants located on the second floor off the shopping complex across the road from the hotel (££££)

We stay here every year and this hotel never disappoints. Made that bit more special this year with the new refurb. Check in and Check out was nice and smooth. The rooms and bathroom are first class, beds are incredibly comfy and the pillows are too. Air con in room works well and is quiet. Staff go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. It was my birthday during my stay and I received a nice little card through my door telling me that I had a surprise waiting for me at breakfast, it was a delicious birthday cake that I shared with my family. Please ignore the reviews on here regarding the food, the food is fantastic, a wide choice for breakfast and a good selection of meats, fish and salads for evening meals. I would point out that breakfast does get very busy from 9:15am onwards so if you want to avoid the crowds at peak season go for breakfast between 08:30 and 09.00am. Well done to all the management and staff, you are doing a great job!

Amazing hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff could nt do enough for us. The rooms where spotless with house keeping changing towels and cleaning every day. The pool area was spotless with plenty of sunbeds . The breakfast catered for everyone with a large choice of different cuisine. I really can not find fault with this hotel.

Stayed here 6 night half board with 5 of us in total over 3 rooms. Hotel is stunning and has been recently refurbished so is very modern. Staff are super friendly, especially reception and special mention to Abel who was fantastic. Location is excellent, directly on the ‘golden mile’ with an easy 5 minute walk to the main areas of the resort and directly linked to the beachfront from the pool. Rooms - we had 3 double rooms which were spacious, as was the bathroom, and the rain shower was amazing. In terms of the room cleaning, we found this mostly good but some days it was excellent, others not so good, more of 4 star but I guess that depends on the maid you have. Rooms have USB and USBC ports next to your bed but compared to a proper wall charger they were slow at charging. The room is very modern with plenty of hangers and storage. The TV had a few UK channels. Our room overlooked the street so given the location you do hear music/noise until around 2am but it was very well sound insulated. It’s not loud, but you do hear a faint ‘boom boom’ in the background from music along the ***** but I think we just got just use to it after the first night. I’d get a pool view next time but we did enjoy people watching from the balcony. The pool - We never had to worry about getting up early to reserve a bed like in other hotels, unless you like being right next to the pool. Even with 5 of us we got a bed together at 10am after breakfast as the pool area is massive and theirs loads of beds to go around, most with umbrella’s. Beds were comfy but I did think the areas directly around the beds could be a bit cleaner. Whilst the overall main area is super clean, areas in between the beds clearly hadn’t been washed down daily where people had spilt drinks, etc, and for a 5 star hotel, this isn’t the 5 star that we have been at before. The pool towel police were out but we still saw beds sit empty for a good few hours. We left our beds several times and went out for lunch for an hour and they were still there when we returned so no need to panic about losing your sun bed. The food - would I stay half board again? Probably not! The breakfast was okay, but the hot food wasn’t very warm at times and for the size of the hotel there just isn’t enough buffet tray/stations, in our opinion. Maybe we just compared this too much to a previous Iberostar hotel? We were down by 9am every day, but anytime after that and you will be queueing to get in. Whilst theirs multiple cook stations, the standard bacon, sausage, beans, etc, only has 1 place at the far end as you come in and regularly we queued for food when at the other end it was empty as the food wasn’t as good or filled with the same main dishes such as bacon, sausage, etc. Simply put the exact same food station at the other end and the problem will be solved and queuing issue resolved! The evening dinner was a real let down though. Again the same issue, just not enough food for the numbers of people and whilst

I have some plus and minus points about my stay there. The plusses are that the reception area is stunning and the service was excellent. Checking in and out was quick and efficient. Even though there was 5 of us we had no difficulty in getting sun beds together and the area round the pool was very clean although pigeons fly about and one made a mess of my towel. Fortunately I wasn't on my sun bed at the time! The youngest of our group (9 years old) loved the pool and the kids club. There are 4 lifts at either end of the main reception and we never had to wait very long for a lift. The hotel is also in an ideal location next to the beach and the golden mile. The negatives are that the rooms are quite small if a fold down bed is needed for a child. I only used the poolside bar once for a snack and wasn't particularly impressed with the pizza I chose - it was too cheesy for my taste. Also, my daughter bought an ice cream and asked for a glass of ice and was charged 2 euros for this. The Cleopatra Palace snack bar is much better. The walk-in shower is good but it was difficult to use the conventional shower without flooding the bathroom. The main criticism I have concerns the breakfast. It tends to be a bit of a free for all and some of the stations are in an alcove which can be very congested. There also wasn't a great supply of fruit. The water in the urn isn't hot enough to make a decent cup of tea. Overall I would probably return but only with family and not as a couple.
