Julia´s Cabanas

Excellent experience, we were treated like royalty and we when we left we felt like family. Shelley and Ty were amazing from start to finish. They are what makes Julia's cabanas such a great place to stay. The front office could be presented better with a couple of fans and maybe a water cooler as this is the first impression for the resort. I know it's rustic but a few more comforts would be nice. But overall we love this place. Thank you again Shelly and Ty. Your the best.

We visited Belize in April of 2022. We spent several days in San Pedro and San Ignacio and had planned to spend 2 days in Placencia. We arrived at Julia's Cabanas late at night and our shuttle driver seemed hesitant to drop us off. When the hotel attendant went around our room with a flashlight, we thought nothing of it. After he left, we saw the condition of the room. We were not looking for anything fancy, but the sheets and blankets were all stained and when we went to use the bathroom, we discovered two very large cockroaches sharing the room with us. It was so bad that we decided not to stay. We booked a flight back to San Pedro for the morning, put hoodies on and slept on top of the covers with the lights on. It was the filthiest place I've ever been. We practically threw our keys at the front desk and didn't even argue about a refund; we couldn't get out of there fast enough.

I loved this place, Shelly and her team were on hand if needed and nothing asked was a problem. I stayed in Cabana No 8 which was right on the beach and next door to two really cool bars, not a problem at all as I visited them both each evening and they were closed by midnight anyway. I found my cabana clean and with everything I needed and the aircon was a welcome blessing - not many beach front have them as they rely on the ocean breeze. The boardwalk runs past it and takes past so many great shops, bars and traders right to the harbour. I made sure I asked about a larger unit for when i return, with family or friends, as its perfectly located for the whole of Placencia village.

Shelly could not have been better! The location was ideal. Placencia isn't very big, being right in the middle of everything was perfect. Walking distance from food and tours. A stones throw from a bar. We will absolutely be staying here again when we return.

Amazing location and staff!! We stayed in both gardenview and beach front cabana, well worth the extra few dollars for beach front. Beautiful cleaned beach out front steps away. Staff was very attentive and super friendly always going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Cabanas are rustic but have everything you need. The Barefoot bar next door plays music from about 10 am until midnight each day and the property was very honest about some noise during day and night but we were not bothered by this as we came prepared with ear plugs but did not use them. Great food and drink as well as groceries all within a 2-3 minute walk. Golf cart rental 2 minutes away. We cant say enough great things about the property, Shelly and Ty were the best hosts, will definitely return!
