I booked my accommodation for the Pine Trees in November 2023 and was looking forward to my holiday. Then out of the blue, 15 days before my stay I received an email. My trip was cancelled! The hotel was under renovation and this had overrun. All I've been offered as compensation / apology is a discount code for 20% off a future trip within the next six months?! I've found alternative accommodation in the town but it's £100 more expensive. Thanks for nothing Pine Trees ☹️

It was our fault that we didn't get the room (DB & B package) we had booked months before. We cancelled due to a hire car problem 36 hours previously but then rebooked 12 hours later.Caithlin, at reception, had been very sympathetic to our predicament and certainly did her best both during and after our one night stay. The substitute room number 12 with no view was in the annex quite a walk for my handicapped wife from the main building and restaurant where we were looking forward to a memorable dinner. Memorable it was, but for all the wrong reasons : The service personnel were young and inexperienced for the most part. The head waiter, a rather officious stout Scot with balding ginger hair and moustache, wasn't one. As soon as we complained, he was nowhere to be seen. The main course we chose was halibut. The one piece we each received measured approximately 10 x 7 cm. It was fully overcooked and bone dry. Inedible. Equally as bad was the vegetable -– leak. Fried in one on in one whole stalk l- ooked like a sausage. Inedible. The cook was incompetent. We complained to no avail. To cap it all breakfast the following morning was a shambles. No brown bread. No croissant. Tinned fruit for muesli. Limited choice of yoghurt. Minimum sized pieces of bacon on cooked breakfast and unbelievably. No marmalade for breakfast - in Scotland!.

My husband and I enjoyed our short stay at Pine Trees. The staff was very accommodating in every way and gladly made a last minute room change which we appreciated. Our ground floor room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was updated and the walk-in shower had great water pressure. The bath towels could have been softer and there was no washcloth but we noticed too late to request one so they may have been available. There is no air conditioning but we opened the window slightly which helped cool the room. The heavy curtains also completely darken the room which was great for sleeping. The full breakfast buffet was good and the fresh ground coffee was very extra good! Overall we recommend Pine Trees for comfort, location and value.

The hotel is located a bit away from the town Centre with beautiful surroundings. Our room was big and we had an outside veranda to view the beautiful scenery. Reception was warm , cordial and quite helpful. In fact our overall stay was quite good. The lounge and breakfast area was big and not very crowded with a relatively good variety of drinks, ie the lounge. Thank you, the staff at this hotel for a wonderful stay.

Well look..just been on on moto trip with 3 other friends...we had twin bedrooms which were 31 & 32 and they were excellent rooms. The service was exemplary and the evening dinner was also fantastic. The service was great. Bar served us fab drinks. Breakfast was right up there. The GM and his staff were on their game. It was the best night of our stay touring 8 nights across Scotland by far. If I lived within 50 miles would be back next weekend! Well done Pine Trees Hotel!

Absolutely stunning hotel and grounds. Although the check-in area was a bit tight, it opened up to a gorgeous sitting area that transported you back in time. Beautiful woodwork, furnishings and history of the hotel. Our room was in a converted carriage house which was quiet and lovely. I was a bit disappointed we weren’t in the main hotel. David and his staff were amazing and very helpful. The dining room was quaint and not too loud. Our food was absolutely delicious, and could be compared to a five star restaurant! We were sad to only spend one night. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This place was truly magical. The grounds are absolutely pristine. A perfect garden for wedding. The room options make our perfect for a family reunion... quiet in the main lodge, large home-like rooms for the youngers in the carriage house. The service was over- the- top. The food was exquisite. I wish I could adequately describe the absolute beauty and serenity of this place.

Top class dining excellent staff , three couples on weekend break , pine trees lovely hotel on beautiful grounds , staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable, first night dined in , meal was superb , venison still being talked about, on arrival two of the rooms where cold and electric heaters were quickly brought up , only hiccup was a fairly steep climb from the road to hotel , that was sorted by Mathew picking us up after a night in Pitlochry. Would recommend a visit here , we'll be back
