Hotels Near Xianhou Temple in Pingyao

The room is antique and has a sense of age, and it feels like living in history. It is close to the back door of the Confucian Temple, which can be used as a starting point for visiting. There is basically no detour when traveling from east to west. The disadvantage is that private cars cannot enter the Pingyao Ancient City. The hotel has a free shuttle bus, but it is a bit stretched during holidays. It takes about 500 meters to walk to the outer road, and it costs 10 yuan per person to take the scenic area bus

The boss was very enthusiastic and reliable. He arrived late on the first day. I was afraid that the road was unfamiliar and went to the East Gate to pick him up. I called in advance to ask the arrival time to prepare the room for heating to ensure the stay experience, and the next day. The whole hotel is antique, the second floor can see the city building, a good stay experience

The stay experience was very good. Because you can't drive into the ancient city now, the owner of the B&B contacted me one day in advance to tell us where to park our car and pick us up from the parking lot to the B&B. The B&B is a local residential building with unique characteristics, and is located two minutes' walk from the city wall.

Advantages: Inside the scenic area, it is easy to walk and very close to the Yamen. The whole yard is also very nice, and there are kittens in it, which are very cute. Disadvantages: The room is a bit trendy and the facilities are simple, but I stay here just for the experience, so I can't compare it with a hotel. The most important problem is that I hope you don't encounter a neighbor who doesn't rest in the middle of the night. The sound insulation is almost the same. You can hear the washing and talking next door clearly, which is too uncomfortable.

The house is unique, the service is very good, very considerate and attentive... The courtyard is quiet in the bustling city, and it is comfortable to live in; it is suitable for three or five families or company team building. When I checked in at night, I met a group of Guangdong guests drinking tea and chatting, because they warmly invited me to drink a few cups of high-quality Dancong; there is nothing to say about drinking and watching the moon in the courtyard on the 15th day of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Really nice place, but as for most hotels, you cannot expect the staff to speak English (not a problem for me, but if you don't speak any Chinese be prepared). Location is great as it is around 2 minutes walk from 南大街/South Street and all the main museums and courtyards. The owners were very friendly and helpful, making time to explain all the places to see and were to eat. They can even help with good discounts, e.g. for the historical-themed performance '又见平遥'/Encore Pingyao as well as for restaurants. The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard, very quiet area so you will sleep well at night. The room has traditional furniture, adding to the atmosphere, and while small (but good value for the price) was comfortable. The bed is a so-called 'kang' with heating - it was so comfortable in the cold winter that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning! Part of the floor has heating too. The cleanliness is good too. I would really recommend this place, very good atmosphere and with everything you need to be comfortable.

The owner of the B&B is very, very nice! When I arrived, he received me very warmly, gave me water, helped me plan the route to the scenic spots, recommended restaurants, and gave me coupons. I also bought cheaper tickets for ”See Pingyao Again” through the owner. I wanted to go to Wang's Courtyard and arranged a car. The owner has always been very caring, really considerate, and a very sincere person! The courtyard environment is very beautiful and unique. I took a lot of photos, which are very good. The room is clean and hygienic, with everything it should have, and it is very quiet. The location of the B&B is very close to the scenic spots, and it can be walked for a few minutes. Originally planned to stay only one night, but the overall experience was so good that I decided to stay another night. Because of special reasons, I upgraded my room on the first night. I strongly recommend everyone to come to Pingyao to experience the enthusiasm of Shanxi, and I will definitely come again if I have the chance in the future!

A very distinctive B&B, probably the best one in the ancient city. The accommodation conditions are very good and the location is very convenient. Both the north and south courtyards of the house are ancient buildings that are hundreds of years old. There are many places to take pictures in your own yard without having to go out and squeeze with the crowd. The housekeeper is also very enthusiastic and takes the initiative to arrange pick-up and drop-off. I am very satisfied!

This Inn is managed by a family that is very nice. Once you arrive from the train station (Pingyaogucheng) with a taxi, they come to pick you up to the Inn (2 min) because the taxi isn't allowed inside the ancient city. They offer to drive you one way to or from the train station (it's free). I was in a room with a traditional atmosphere (with a kang bed having a mattress a little harder than others).
