The White Swan Inn

A good comfortable stay at a warm ,friendly hotel, complete with open log fire. We enjoyed a tasty dinner and very good ,varied breakfasts. The White Swan is well located for exploring lovely Pickering and the beautiful surrounding area. Excellent private parking.

Stayed at the White Swan for three nights for my wife's birthday in a vintage room overlooking the main street. Room warm spacious and comfy with super king bed which was very comfy with excellent pillows and duvet. Hot drinks and biscuits supplied with mini fridge and complimentary waters. Decent shower and bath with plenty of hot water and supplied toiletries. Room was serviced everyday if required. All staff were warm and friendly and happy to help at all times. Breakfast was excellent with great assortment of cold offerings (the home made flapjack was delicious) and excellent locally sourced produce for the hot offerings including the best home made black pudding I have ever tasted. Evening meals were very good if a little expensive. Comfy seating was limited in the bar room which had a homely feel. The only down point for me was the sitting room on the left as you enter the front of the property. It had a roaring fire but seemed dark and dingy with poor lighting and little uninviting. We arrived on a sunny afternoon but we're a little disappointed with the frontage of the building which looked like it needed a makeover. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would likely return in the future.

A lovely place to stay in the middle of Pickering, and very handy for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Excellent food and friendly service. If you are less able then we would suggest checking with the hotel beforehand as there are stairs in the main building, and our bath was not easy to get into or out of. Otherwise excellent and will stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights in November to visit the surrounding area. Pickering is a lovely market town with very friendly Yorkshire people. Our stay at The White Swan was excellent. Our room was spacious, warm and clean, nicely decorated and supplied with tea/coffee,biscuitsand water. Breakfast was plentiful, very tasty local produce and served with a smile. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great hotel in town centre with plenty of parking. The hotel was lovely and clean and warm with fires lit and friendly staff. The bath in our room was big and there was plenty of hot water and room was lovely and comfortable. Tip if wanting to go on the Pickering steam train please check time table as it doesn't run in November.

The place looks rather unappealing from the kerbside but oh my what a pleasant surprise inside. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a ‘hideaway’ room around the back and it was beautiful. Gorgeous furnishings and the bedding was luxurious. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Thanks to the team at the White Swan.
