Anoulackkhenlao Hotel ★★★

📍 059, 4 Ban Phonsavanxay, Phonsavan

"Overall, it was nice, but the bathroom was a little inconvenient. The water didn't flow smoothly, so I think it needs some work."

Pukyo Bed and Breakfast Belgian Lao
9.6 (83 reviews)

Pukyo Bed and Breakfast Belgian Lao ★★★

📍 Unnamed Road, Phonsavan

"Pukyo is a 5-room B&B run by David who is a very friendly and helpful host. We got a room on the ground floor which was excellent for my husband who does not walk well let alone climb stairs. It was a big family room with a king-sized double bed and 2 singles. There is an ensuite bathroom with a very good hot-water heater. The bathroom floor gets wet and slippery after the shower but there is an anti-slip mat and Daivd knows about the problem which he is going to fix this summer. The aircon is very powerful and there's also a wall fan as an option. There's also a small TV but we did not use it. The B&B is about 4 min from the airport and less than 10 from town. David will take you to town for dinner in his comfortable van and wait for you. He very kindly bought dinner back for us the 2nd night as my husband was too tired to go out. There's a fridge stocked with beers and drinks and a water dispenser in the living area. We had wonderful chats with David who is a great font of knowledge and felt like we were staying with a friend rather than a commercial lodging. There are mosquitoes in the evening but David sells lemongrass -scented repellent for 11,000LAK - very effective also for outdoor tours. David has a outdoor seating area at the back and it's a very peaceful and pleasant place for breakfast or a beer at sundown. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with David."

Vansana Plain of Jars Hotel ★★★

📍 F646+XC2, Phonsavan

"Clean and comfortable hotel with beautiful views. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good, although the service was a bit slow. I visited in July, so I didn’t get to use the fireplace, but it looks like it would make the hotel extra cozy during the winter. Overall, I had a pleasant stay."

Sipanya Guesthouse ★★

📍 Phonesavanhxai, Phonsavan

"I found Sipanya Guesthouse to be excellent value for money. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and warm. The best part is that it's nicely tucked away from the main street, making it quiet and peaceful at night. It only takes about 7-10 minutes to walk to the main street for food, and about 15-20 minutes to reach the local market. Highly recommend for a budget stay!"

Coecco Xieng Khouang Hotel ★★★

📍 Phonxavan, Xiengkhouang, Phonsavan

"A hotel that disappointed us with the reception from the noisy staff at night and offering practically no additional services (bike rental, laundry, etc.) in short, forget it. Breakfast was limited in quantity. I do not recommend it, poor value for money."

Vansana Plain of Jars Hotel ★★★
"Reading other reviews I am not sure what people expect sometimes . This is an old, dated 2 star hotel . It doesn’t claim to be anything other than that . The rooms were basic but comfortable. The bathrooms were dated but clean and functional. Breakfast was simple but plentiful . Dinner was the same . If you are going to the Plain of Jars then stay here"

Sipanya Guesthouse ★★
"Mr. Abaya made us feel very welcome and was very helpful during our stay. We arrived by bus after a grueling 10 hours and Mr. Souk was at the bus station waiting for us. We are party of 3 senior citizens and this hotel may all our needs. As Americans we did not get used to the hard beds, for that my body was glad it was only 2 nights! We came mainly to see the Plain of Jars and that was just wonderful. Mr. Souk was our guide and was brilliant! He speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable, not only about the Plain of Jars, but the history and culture of his country! I could not imagine having any other guide but him! The hotel is lucky to have him on staff!!"
