"Absolutely terrible. I thought hotels in smaller towns would offer better value for money, but the opposite was true, just like prices in rural areas aren't necessarily lower than in cities. The single room had a persistent smell of smoke that just wouldn't go away. This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in that's been this bad; I opened the windows for hours to ventilate, but it didn't help. Like many places in Italy, the heating was only available for limited hours, and I was woken up freezing. They only gave me a blanket and a sheet to cover myself with. The soundproofing was incredibly poor; I was woken up in the middle of the night by a family coming home from outside. I was furious! How could they stay out so late in this small town?"

"Don't even dream of booking this place if you don't use Whatsapp, because it's very difficult to communicate with them otherwise. And even so, after getting no response about leaving our luggage at noon, it took about 15 minutes to get buzzed into the facility. The skylight over the bathtub was so badly broken that all the heat went out through it. When we tried to go out again we wanted to test all of the keys so we could be sure of getting back in quickly and the key to the outer door got stuck in the keyhole. We finally were able to get an answer to our call, but the person didn't seem to understand our problem either in English or my good Italian."

"Hosts were very helpful, stayed in touch and provided information regarding best way to get to the property - they were also extremely helpful providing restaurant tips. Hotel is definitely boutique. Rooms are large and beautifully appointed. Property is conveniently situated close to the centre of the old town. Small classy bar and breakfast rooms. We were very happy with our stay."
