"Our stay at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The hotel's location on beautiful Hilo Bay is hard to beat, with breathtaking views of Coconut Island and Mauna Kea that made every morning and evening memorable. The grounds are beautifully maintained, peaceful, and offer a true sense of old Hawaiʻi charm. The staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely embodied the spirit of aloha - especially the person who checked us in - amazing top notch service (with the except for the older lady at the Front Desk - who looks as if she may had been training a new team member - and made me feel as if I was a bother upon arrival) . Everyone else we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing visit. One of the things we appreciated most was the hotel's convenient location. It's just minutes from Hilo Airport, downtown Hilo, Liliʻuokalani Gardens, and an easy drive to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, making it an excellent home base for exploring the east side of the Big Island. If you're looking for a luxury resort with modern finishes, this may not be it—but if you appreciate authentic Hawaiʻi, incredible scenery, friendly service, and excellent value, the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the true beauty and hospitality of Hilo."

"It’s a great place due to the affordability.  It was a busy weekend and we couldn’t get a better room. Our room didn’t have the ocean breeze. We fasted the parking lot and all the bright lights from the building shone through all night. Curtains didn’t block it.  So I was happy with the room itself. I know they have better rooms. Unfortunately we didn’t get one this time."

"The most thunder-stepped accommodation in this trip, the night of the stay, called for a long time to come out to receive the staff, the room is not air-conditioned, the breakfast is not delicious, it is said that it is a sea view, the location is close, the room can not see the sea, the place to eat breakfast can see, the room appearance picture is very good, close to see the lack of maintenance, Uninhabited. "The location is excellent, in the town center, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's convenient for visiting the volcano and close to the airport. Cleanliness, at least superficially, seems acceptable. Breakfast ends around 8:00 or 8:30, consisting of chocolate waffles and coffee… Is there a deposit for check-in? All credit card information was manually entered, which was a first for me and made me very uneasy afterwards. My security code was also specifically verified… I suggest checking if cash is available."

"Tremendous space & person! I arrived late (after 8pm) as a surprise for my Family Reunion & so after dinner. The caretaker met me kindly after I got into the door (clear & simple instructions were given) to help me to get my bearings, carry my 2 carryons to my room & lead me to my room. He also provided a cold bottle of water, MUCH appreciated! I found the place to be very clean, spacious & well-organized with simple instructions in the bathroom, kitchen & shared spaces. I appreciate the simplicity & cleanliness, while still giving me my space! TY again for this last-minute booking that turned into a true treasure for myself as an introvert needing space, cleanliness & simplicity. Mahalo & May ke Akua bless U always! Dawn"

"The hotel's interior facilities are complete and comfortable, and the service attitude is good. However, taxis are not allowed to drive up to the hotel lobby entrance. You have to walk out of the hotel compound to wait for a taxi at the gate, which is about a 7-8 minute walk. There's no Wi-Fi signal there, making it inconvenient to call a car. This really doesn't match the hotel's grand and upscale exterior environment and style."

"The hotel is so beautiful, there is a large internal area, you need to drive from the iron gate for ten minutes, along the beautiful road, there are small wild boars on the road, next to the waterfall, there is a waterfall behind the hotel room, only for internal residents , You can swim and boat in the pond under the waterfall, and you can also participate in their rich activities such as climbing from the waterfall or visiting their farm. Breakfast is delicious. We did not have the opportunity to have dinner. It is said that it is their chef’s no-menu dinner. They use fresh ingredients from their own farm, which is a little regrettable. I highly recommend it. I will stay a few more days next time."

"The hotel itself is better than expected; You can tell that they went through a massive renovation in order to give a chill vibes based stay (on the outside). Inside of the room, it’s definitely an old hotel… I liked the furniture, but the windows were too open for my liking (you get the feeling that anyone can look into your room); Not as much of an issue since we used the curtains! The bath towels were covered in hair (ranging from long strands to tiny ***** pieces) which I found to be disgusting. The staff were more than willing to switch out the towels (there was still hair on them but a little dusting off mainly did the job). There was tiny ***** hair pieces in the bathtub as well, but I washed them down the drain so no biggie. The main issue that I had with this stay was that you could hear everything that was going on in rooms next door or outside. We heard loud screaming and fighting into the early ams, and it took a while for them to stop. This is not the hotel’s fault, but if you do stay here, keep in mind that the rooms aren’t very spacious, you can hear everything, and there might be hair in your towels. Overall, I really loved staying here and found it to be quite charming. The view in front of the hotel is INSANE. Though I listed negative traits about this hotel, I feel that it’s important to give some transparency to readers of this review. Mostly everyone goes into a hotel thinking that it’s 1000% clean and perfect. However, for me, the negative reviews are what I look for so that I know what to expect. You will definitely love the vibes and views this hotel has to offer, as well as the friendliness of the staff who worlds here."

"힐로에서는 아이들과 편하게 보내고 싶어서 침실이 2개 있는 방을 찾다가 예약했는데, 너무 만족 스러웠습니다. 무서보다 깨끗하고 15분거리면 Walmart, target, Ross 등 다양한 쇼핑스토어가 있어서 외식을 줄일 수 있었어요. 그리고 콘도 바로 앞에 커피숍은 맛도 있고 샌드위치도 팔아서 가벼운 식사를 즐기기에 너무 좋았습니다. 벌레도 없이 깨끗하고 프라이빗사고 주차도 할 수 있어서 아주 편하게 잘 지냈어요~ 블랙샌드비치는 1시간 15분, 힐로 볼케이노 공원은 40분 거리인데 차를 렌트하면 다녀오기에 불편함이 없습니다. 발코니 뷰도 멋져서 아침마다 커피마시면서 바라보기에 너무 좋았어요."
