"I've actually been staying at this hotel for a week now. It's been good, but today the cleaning staff might have been tired, I'm not sure, but they didn't clean well. They rushed through it. My things in the bathroom were supposed to be neatly arranged, but some items were knocked over and scattered. I think they might need to practice making the bed properly. I'm not a picky person and I don't ask them to clean every day, but I think it should have been cleaner and more organized. And the woman at reception should smile more. 😂"

"In my opinion this hotel seems to be a 2* hotel rather than 4*.  We received a room with an AC not working. Nobody answered our calls and requests and I had to complain in person to change my room after several calls.  The breakfast is normal. You easily hear the conversations in the corridors and rooms next to you ! As my experience Waize navigators is wrong in addressing the hotel and you must be very careful when using your navigator. Overall, I had a good stay at the hotel. The property is beautiful, the room was comfortable, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were two issues that significantly affected my experience. First, the hotel charged a very large security deposit of approximately AED 1,600 for a two-night stay. This amount was charged to my card without a clear explanation during check-in, and I was not informed in advance about the size of the deposit. As of writing this review, I have still not received the amount back. Better communication and transparency regarding security deposits would be greatly appreciated. Second, the housekeeping service was disappointing, especially on my checkout day. I requested ice cubes three separate times and only received them after approximately 1.5 hours. In general, whenever I requested something, it took a long time to arrive, and I had to repeatedly follow up with the staff. That said, I would like to sincerely thank Carolyn Muimi for her professionalism and support during my checkout process. She took the time to assist me, address my concerns, and promptly send an email to the finance department regarding the refund of the security deposit. Her assistance was greatly appreciated and left a positive impression. While I enjoyed the hotel overall and appreciated the facilities and atmosphere, I believe improvements are needed in guest communication regarding deposits and in the responsiveness of the housekeeping team.

Overall, Fraser Suites Muscat met our expectations. We stayed here twice, including three nights at the start of our Oman trip before Ramadan and two nights at the end during Ramadan. As we arrived late at night and departed for an early flight, a 24-hour front desk was essential. Check-in and check-out were smooth both times. Parking is plentiful, with spacious options both in front of the hotel and in the basement, which is at street level. On both occasions, we were assigned One Bedroom Deluxe Suites with a beautiful view of the Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque across the main road. The rooms are spacious and feature a functional kitchen with a full fridge with freezer. However, we were disappointed that our request to stay in the same room for our second visit was not honoured. The check-in staff later explained they cannot reserve specific room numbers. We wish this had been clarified when we first made the request. This is one part of the service that I found lacking. The blackout curtains are excellent, effectively blocking out both the sunlight and the heat for mornings we wanted to sleep in. The suite also provides a box of laundry powder for the washing machine, which was very handy during our first stay. Muscat’s dry climate meant our clothes air-dried quickly overnight in the service yard. There are a good number of electric sockets, including some international ones, throughout the suite. While the rooms are generally clean, housekeeping was occasionally inconsistent with changing towels. Additionally, the shower area tends to flood due to the floor design, which was a common issue we encountered in other Omani hotels in this price range. The water pressure is adequate, but note that you must turn on the water heater in the room for at least an hour to ensure a consistently warm shower. This should be mentioned during check-in. Both stays were very quiet with no noise issues. Bottled water was given generously and topped up promptly upon request without limits. Our only minor struggle was the air conditioning. We could not quite figure out the wall controls, the system seemed only to cool rather than heat. With Muscat temperatures ranging from 18 to 28°C, the room felt a bit too cold at night, so we opted to switch the unit off entirely.

Mandarin Oriental, Muscat

I'm a luxury travel advisor who traveled here with my husband and our two children for our holiday. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and conveniently located close to the airport. Because it sits on a public beach, the experience feels less like a private resort and more like a hotel that’s integrated into the local area, which may appeal to travelers looking for something less secluded. Unfortunately, the stay did not live up to the Mandarin Oriental standard we expected, particularly when it came to service and coordination. The concierge experience was a major pain point. We reached out multiple times, both before and during our stay, to help plan activities and experiences in Oman, but emails and calls routinely went unanswered. When responses did come, they were often delayed or incomplete, making it difficult to rely on the concierge for planning. Because we traveled a long way to Oman and were counting on the concierge to help us navigate the destination, this was especially disappointing. We ultimately left feeling like we missed out on fully experiencing Oman due to the lack of communication and follow-through. Additionally, the club lounge, accessible through certain suites, fell short in both food quality and service. Overall communication across the hotel felt inconsistent, and the property appeared understaffed at times. We heard similar feedback from other guests during our stay and did raise these concerns directly with the hotel.

I booked this for a friend who was on a business trip, and they specifically asked me to leave a good review. The hotel lobby is very stylish, the room layout is well-designed, and the desk is large with lighting perfect for working on a computer. The most important thing is the excellent soundproofing; even though it's in a busy downtown area, the room was very quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hygiene details were also well-handled. As the person who made the booking, I feel really reassured getting this kind of feedback. I'll choose this place again next time I need to.

What a wonderful stay we had at Park Inn! From the moment you enter the hotel everything feels so well maintained, clean and service is high. The check in was smooth and the staff is very nice! The rooms are spacious, beds are super comfortable and the shower was amazing, especially the rain shower. The hotel from ground floor/lobby to the rooms are clean and all of it feels fresh. The breakfast in the hotel is definitely a must have when you visit this hotel, everything is freshly made, the options are in abundance and we had a joy having breakfast here daily. Points for improvements for this hotel from my point of view: why do they have a beautiful flat screen Samsung TV that's not Android/Google TV? We are living in 2026 and I just can't get over the fact that in a hotel like Park Inn you have a very poor choice of entertainment in your room. You can cast to the tv, but it works very badly and the built in web browser is just horrible to use on the tv. If possible I would recommend the hotel to just invest in this to make someones stay more pleasant. Another thing for improvement is the coffee bar. I had 2 coffees there, one regular cappuccino and 1 Spanish Latte and unfortunately for such a hotel, with an amazing breakfast and what looked like an amazing dinner experience and a lovely coffee bar, the coffee was just not good, especially not for the price you pay for it. This resulted in me going out daily with my car to different coffee shops to get decent coffee. Such a shame, because the machines and set-up look ok to have some good coffee, I suspect the coffee beans to be the culprit or that something needs to be checked. Other than these 2 minor points, this was definitely a very pleasant stay and definitely a hotel I want to return to whenever I visit Muscat again!

Let's start off with hygiene in this hotel, the table and sofa in my room have some unremovable stains which I don't dare to use. The above is probably the worst part about my stay here I'm okay with eating the local way by sitting on the bed but the presence of the untidiness was an eyesore. There are always tiny red spots on my towels and bedsheets so I always have to tell the staff to change it, quite irritating. The all in one body wash smelled kinda odd, the longer you use it the more you'll find it unpleasant. A clear design flaw on the restroom as well because there is no doors for the shower, meaning water would just leak all over the floor while you clean yourself. Furthermore, I was told due to security policy, neither the Talabat driver nor the hotel staff can bring the food delivery to my room, which is sort of inconvenient for me. On a brighter note, all of the staffs here seemed friendly and helpful, hardworking people from what I observed. Though keep in mind after your call to the front desk the wait might be slightly lengthy. Prices for my stay is fair. My local guide Muhammad Albalushi told me the price was superb. The breakfast is the best element of this hotel, they knew I love the fried mushrooms the most and specially organized it for me! The food was refreshing and the view is decent. I met the Omani National Women Basketball team at the canteen as well, best of luck girls! Another super nice part is the swimming pool, a fantastic place for social gathering. Both my experiences led me to very hospitable Omani friends! Nothing beats floating on the water during a Muscat sunset.

The Chedi brand never fails to disappoint. And the Muscat experience does it so much justice. And more. The usual “black pool” (2 of them actually), a gym like really really no other. And… the service. All the way up there. There should be more Chedi in the world! Special to Marebel and Anton who made our breakfast just perfect

Nice hotel and clean throughout. Breakfast was excellent. Room layout exceptional. Didn't get much communication from the reception staff so can't comment. Location was good near Lulu supermarket and a shopping mall. Cleaners only left fresh linen only when requested and even then left very limited towels for the 3 of us.

Booked this for our 1st time visit to Oman and we stayed here for 12 days. If you are only staying 2-3 days this hotel may be ok - but for longer stays I would not recommend. Positives: Great location if you like genuine Asian food - excellent cheap and mid-price restaurants within a few minutes walking distance - Indian Vegetarian and non-veg restaurants too. Mosque within walking distance Friendly helpful cleaning staff - most of them try their best to make your stay comfortable. Very big room sizes Good Wifi Comfortable beds. Free water bottles on request Fairly easy to get OTaxi within 2-3 minutes each time. Negatives: Mould in the bathroom, water leaks out of the shower onto the main bathroom floor - making a slip hazard No caddy in the shower to hold your soap or shampoo etc, so you have to keep bending down to the floor to get or put your shampoo bottle. Shower pressure was very very low - so no refreshing shower after a long day out. It was enough to wash your body but takes several minutes (water was hot OK). Some of the sockets in the room do not work - so you have to keep unplugging things to use something else. When we asked for an iron, the gave us a barely functional one with steam controls missing and no heat level markings so you are scared to use it in case you get a shock and/or burn your clothes. The 1st ironing board we were given belonged in the bin - I am not exaggerating - the cover to the board was ripped in multiple places, and bits of metal were sticking out - guaranteed to rip your clothes when ironing. The 2nd ironing board was new but the cover did not stay in place - so you spent twice as long constantly re-adjusting the cover than ironing your clothes. The hairdryer had a difference plug than the sockets in the room - luckily I had my own converter. The access card for our room door kept resetting every single day for the 1st 6 days. Every evening we come back, go up to our room and the card does not work - so we have to go back down again to get the card programmed. One on evening, I had to go up and down the lift 4 times - yes 4 times - because the lady on reception seemed to hear the number 3 when I say 2 - I don't know how to confuse room xx2 for xx3 - English is my 1st language and I speak at conferences, and with English speaking colleagues and clients around the word every working day. Even though, the first two times I went down the card actually had a sticker with the room number on it - but she still managed to program the wrong room number twice. On the 3 visit, she gave me a new card - but still programmed the wrong room number. On the 4th visit she finally said 'ah you mean xx2 not xx3' - and then she laughed and shared a private joke with her colleague. I got the feeling she was bored of the job and liked to play games with the hotel guests to cheer herself up. Eventually after 6 days of this, I complained to a male member of staff on the desk and he programmed the card once and it worked fine for the remaining days. The small fridge freezer remained on 24x7 - even on the lowest setting - so you heard the constant buzzing sound all day and night. It even froze and ruined some of our fruit which was in the fridge section and not in the freezer section. The batteries in the safety deposit box had corroded and you could not operate or program it. They gave us some keys for the safe, but they did not work properly - so we were scared to lock anything in the safe - in case you could not unlock it again - funny hah! The shampoo and shower gel bottles were called something like Eco wash - but they were almost always only half full - so you had to use a single bottle of each every time you showered - so we probably used at least 45-50 bottles between us during our stay - what a waste of plastic.
