"Excellent location which is near to everything: JR Hakodate station, bus station, tram station, taxi station, Hakodate Morning Market, Family mart, etc.
The room is spacious and has a sofa seat. At 13th flr where our rooms were, there was a cafe where guests could have a drink free of charge.
The breakfast spread was good and the staff were very polite!
However, the air-conditioning was auto turned to warm, and we could not switch it back to cool temperature. As a result my daughter has to resort to rent a fan, as it was very warm at night."

"Accessible combinis and mall/food store around the area! Do note though they only have 1 kind of pillow and it was VERY uncomfortable for me for I got stiff neck till the point I couldnt turn to either sides and friend had to pull me up. Would recommend sleeping without their pillow to be safer."

"The location is great, and the hotel is very clean. It's right behind the JR station, and there's a convenience store downstairs. The only downside was the breakfast, which wasn't very good; I'd recommend getting something from the convenience store instead. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. "After 10 stops in Japan I can say Tokyu Stay is my favorite hotel chain. In-room laundry is so nice for long term travel and they always provide the quintessential hotel amenities. "This hotel is perfect for introverts, offering fully self-service check-in, check-out, and luggage storage. You can grab toothbrushes and combs from the front desk yourself. Perhaps due to language barriers, I found the staff to be a bit indifferent. The duvet looked a little worn and had some old stains, but the bedside tables had a charming, historic feel. The bathroom was narrow but very clean. In the triple room, we could barely open one suitcase. We chose a room away from the elevator, so our window offered a view of JR Hakodate Station, which really highlights how incredibly close the hotel is – just a few minutes' walk. There's also a Maxvalu supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, which is quite large and good for browsing. Plus, there's a delicious soup curry restaurant, King Bear, nearby."

"Beyond expectations! I booked this hotel specifically for the breakfast, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The fresh, all-you-can-eat seafood was absolutely amazing.
The only minor drawbacks were its distance from the station and the quiet surroundings. We visited during the off-season, and the streets were quite deserted when we walked back to the hotel at night."

"We were so satisfied with the hotel! It’s 5-6 minutes walk from the train station and morning market is just right beside. Though it’s a bit further to the beach but it’s still within comfortable walkable distance! Our first room was on second floor, with strong smell of the onsen. Then we reached out to the reception and they changed our room to a higher floor very quickly and nicely! The onsen area is huge and very clean. The view from our room was spectacular."

The ancient Showa atmosphere, mingled with the sea breeze from the Tsugaru Strait, was a highlight of my trip to Hakodate.

GGuest UserI stayed in a D-Fourth Non smoking room on the 8th floor. The room has a nice view of Mount Hakodate from the balcony and a view of the port from the bedroom window. Room was clean and there is daily cleaning if you ask for it. Cooking utensils are available though no condiments provided. The bath system is electronic and took a while to figure out how to use it. Room was spacious and adequate for 4 of us. What we loved is that while the dryer did not really dry our clothes (separate washer and dryer), the heater in the room was strong enough to dry them and we could borrow a rack from the hotel to hang them out to dry. Only improvement we would like to suggest - we arrived when it was snowing heavily, and as we moved our luggage into the room the floor became wet and dirtied, we had to clean with tissue as there is no floor cleaner available.would be nice to provide self cleaning tools especially since there is a kitchen and things might spill. And also the balcony did not have any ‘balcony’ shoes so it was just too cold to step outside to enjoy the scenary. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Would choose it again if we go Hakodate.

The staff were super nice and welcoming, always smiling and ready to help. The room was clean and comfy. There’s also an onsen and sauna, which was perfect to chill in after a long day of walking around.
You can also grab free amenities in the lobby, which is a nice touch. Breakfast was honestly so good and unlimited. There were fresh sashimi, salad, fried chicken, fish, pancakes, croissants, and the super tasty Hokkaido milk ice cream. And a lot more—just look at the photos!
Overall, great vibe, great stay. Would totally come back again. 🫶

The room itself is quite spacious, and having a microwave and cooking utensils is a huge plus, great for making late-night snacks. What really stood out were the self-service toiletries available for guests, and the fabric freshener provided smelled wonderful and worked great! 😌

It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

The location is excellent, only about a 3-minute walk from the tram station, which makes getting around very easy. There are also many restaurants nearby, so finding food is never a problem.
The room was clean and well maintained, and the onsen was very nice and relaxing after a long day.
Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

There is shuttle bus service to nearby sightseeing points with different time frame.
Service provided by sending and picking up from those points are provided,which it is good for those whose family doesnt rent a car.
It is a farrrrrr sea view from the room but it is good enough in Hakodate.
Wlaking distance from JR station and bus interchange. there is a supermarket is behind the hotel which it is convenient.

AAilvxingdeabuI absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!

After getting off at Hakodate Station, you can take buses 95, 95A, or 96 right outside the station (get off at Yunokawa Onsen Station), and the hotel is directly across the street. Conversely, you can catch a bus from the hotel entrance directly to JR Hakodate Station. This is incredibly handy, especially given how expensive taxis are in Japan.
The hotel rooms are very spacious. While the facilities are a bit dated, the big plus is that the room comes with a private, continuously flowing hot spring bath – it's not one of those you have to turn on and off with a tap. It's semi-open-air, looking out onto the ocean, so there's no need to worry about privacy. Soaking in the onsen while enjoying the sea view, perhaps with an ice cream [chuckle] – it really doesn't get much more relaxing!
Since we booked a Japanese-style room, staff came to make our beds after check-in. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary bottled water, bottled tea, and beer. Unfortunately, my family and I don't drink, so we didn't make use of that service [facepalm].
Right next to the hotel is the 'Ichimonji' ramen shop, and the Tropical Botanical Garden, where you can watch monkeys soaking in the hot springs, is just a 300-500 meter walk away. Guests staying at Hanatsuki can also request a window seat at breakfast to enjoy the sea view while they eat.
