I had a good b&b stay at the Venus Beach, here are the main takeaways from my point of view. The hotel staff are very friendly, polite and helpful, the rooms are very clean, the pool area is excellent with an adjoining beach area. The hotel is conveniently located between the old town and the harbour, although neither is really walkable. To get about I recommend getting a weekly bus pass from the nearby bus station on Tomb of the Kings Road. It costs 25 Euro for 7 days and gives unlimited local bus travel. You will need photo ID and they only take cash. It remains valid for 5 years so you can recharge it on your next visit. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. This paid for itself many times over during my stay. The room itself contained a nice modern shower room, a safe, plenty of wardrobe space, a modern TV with Sky news, a small balcony and a comfy bed. The only niggle here was the fridge was not cold enough. There is a terrace bar for drinks and well made cocktails with table service. Everything was reasonably priced but they could do with a greater variety of bar snacks, just crisps were available. There is also a pool bar which serves ice cream. The WiFi is free and fast. Breakfast was served in the restaurant by the pool and there was a good choice of items such as fried items, cold meats and cheeses. Although the selection was good I did feel the quality of the breakfast ingredients could be improved, no fresh fruit juice, inedible corn flakes and processed cheese slices. It wouldn’t take much to elevate the breakfast to a really good standard. Would I stay here again, yes I certainly would. It serves as a nice base to explore the area with good transport links. It also represents excellent value in October, which is a lovely month to visit Cyprus. I wouldn’t stay full board because there are excellent restaurants in Paphos that offer good value well cooked food. What would I improve, the breakfast ingredients would be my first tip plus plug sockets near bedside tables. The Venus Beach claims 5 stars which in my mind suggests Ritz Carlton facilitates. You don’t get that, but what you do get is a very pleasant place to stay in a convenient location with great staff, lovely pool and sunset views at a good value price. What’s not to like. I look forward to returning.
