This is only an okay hotel. The bed was ok but the room was a bit run down. Shower is not that clean. And the water pressure run hot or cold without any control. The pool was nice. The restaurant, not affiliated was tasty but overpriced. The crowd a mix of families and party people.

Stayed here for a long weekend during a festival held on property. Festival is an annual event. The Caliente Tropics did not disappoint! The property pool and grounds are well maintained and pretty. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The Reef, Sanchos snd Sanchos Cantina all on site and were great options for food and excellent service. We will be back!

I thought this hotel would be a fun tiki hotel, but unfortunately it was not. It seriously needs a renovation. The rooms are old and funky with lumpy mattresses, bathrooms are seriously ugly, The bedside lamp was broken and so light weight, I knocked it over twice. The lobby smelled awful, most likely due to birds in cages. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the pool is great (although many of the lounge chairs were BROKEN).

It’s an older converted motel and it does show some wear and tear. But it had some things that $350/night hotels lack. It had a towel ring next to the sink. It had really big, really deep drawers. It had a mini-fridge that was empty and actually useful. It had a safe large enough to fit a laptop. There was room to hang a full-length dress. Bathroom was small, but O.K. with a walk-in shower Bed was big and comfortable. The folks at the front desk were very polite, welcoming, and efficient. Room was clean, clean, clean. On the downside, walls are thin and you hear a lot of outside noise. Very squeaky floors. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in a room under us. Strangely, no clock in the room. Water temperature in the shower can quickly change quickly from comfortable to cold and back to comfortable. There is not an elevator for second floor rooms, but they warn you about that when you check in. We stayed in a second floor Lanai King room. The rooms are in various states of renovation, so ask for a recently renovated room.

The Caliente Tropics hosts some wonderful events and it's restaurants, Sansho's, La Fern and The Reef are must-go for the hip set. We love the restaurants and always see friends there. They are not run by the hotel, I believe. The hotel itself, once you get past the arrival of super cool instagram spots, is a complete dump. I mean, frightening dump. My pictures will tell the tale. Can someone please buy this place and lovingly restore it? Pop by for the pool scene but do not stay.

The pool, hot tub and landscaping are very nice. The location is very good. The hotel is dated. Our room and bathroom were ok. The carpet is unraveling between the bathroom and bedroom. The price was good. We checked in early and had to pay $40. Check in is not until 4 pm. We checked in at 1:30 pm. Our friend checked in 30 minutes later and did not have to pay this fee. Would love to buy this place. Restaurant on the grounds. Didn't try it yet. This place totally has the old school Palm Springs vibe. Hot tub is large. Pool was heated and large.

If you get Room 118 immediately ask for a different room as Room 118 is a total dump: no door deadlock, cheap tile floors that get cold at night, tepid shower water that suddenly goes cold, and overall filthy. Check other reviews, someone else had similar issues with Room 120 which is in the same wing as Reception/check-in; this wing needs a professional renovation. The wing opposite the reception lobby is way better in terms of room quality. Management claims if you bring up room issues they will fix/reassign your room so if you’re unfortunate enough to be assigned this room hope management is true to their word. This hotel should not be renting out some of the rooms on this property until their quality is equal to or better than the Motel 6 next door which is cheaper.

Palm Springs was the last station of our US round trip. The town is between the Joshua tree NP and LA, so it was a perfect location before leaving US from LAX airport. The accomodation gave a tropical feeling with its palms. The pool was the biggest one of our 7 hotels we stayed, however it was also the most crowded. In spite of that we enjoyned it in the terrible heat. The rooms were a bit outdated but we liked it. The weakest point was the WiFi, best to have mobilnet if you stay there.

I was genuinely impressed with the level of service I received during my two night stay at this resort. I had called in advance inquiring about pet policies and ended up paying only 20 dollars for the stay which I was pleased with given other hotels were charging more for having pets. In addition, Dustin was extremely helpful and so was the rest of the crew (in particular a Latino gentleman whom I presumed was the manager and a lady with braids who had nothing but wonderful recommendations of the souvenir shops to visit in the area). Not only were they very cool with me checking out two hours later (I thought checkout was at 2 but it was noon actually) but they also went above and beyond finding my wallet which I stupidly forgot and desperately needed to check in to my next planned hotel; they were also kind enough to take photos of me in front of the hotel prior to me leaving. Overall, when in Palm Springs, this hotel is an excellent place to stay. One thing I will mention is that it is a little unfortunate the proximity of the Motel 6 as I could sense sketchy things can happen there so perhaps I'd caution a solo female traveler and if you do end up booking, try to request the side closest to the lobby.
