All very friendly. Vincenzo, Noemi, Giuseppe, Selenia, Cetty, Little Sophia... Veramente, TUTTI! EXCELLENT!!! We have been traveling all around the world, and by far this hotel deserves more Stars than the ones allocated. Really we always look for a good location, and for a hotel with good reviews, regardless of how many Stars Hotels we have to pay for. There were not too many choices in Palermo. This hotel was close to the Train and Bus Stations. We could not find any flights due to the flights cancellations because of Volcan Etna decision to erupt unpredictably, therefore, we arrived at Palermo by bus. This hotel was close to the Bus Station, after so many hours in uncomfortable seats at Marino Bus, (next to a table seats where 4 persons could not stretch their legs in a long journey, from Bari to Palermo, shame on you Marino Bus, you should not sell table tickets in a journey where people need to sleep ,- more than 8 hours travel). Anyway, thank God! we found 55 Aira Hotel, no need to pray so the water does not stay in the sink when brushing your teeth. No need to pray so the toilet flush well. No need to pray so that you end up showering with water covering your feet. If we could give 10 Stars to 55 Aira, we will. 🙂

We have loved our stay. The room was very spacious, the location unbeatable and the service was friendly. This hotel is sophisticated, tasteful and wonderfully affordable. Some remarks: on Saturday night the music from the rooftop was loud. Our bathroom toilet was a bit smelly, but not unbearably so. We had drinks on the rooftop, where there was w nice urban vibe.Breakfast was delicious.

I had a tough time giving InCanto an average rating, because it was definitely not average. The good qualities were really great, but the bad qualities were really bad. First the good - The room was large & comfortable, located right in the middle of everything, a few steps away from the famous Four Corners. I loved the breakfast every day delivered right to our room. Lots of great places to eat and drink, and sights to see, just a short walk in every direction. Now the bad - InCanto is difficult to find, since the main entrance, the one with a sign, is inside a private building up on the 2nd floor (or 3rd floor for Americans.) There is no signage on the main streets, and only a tiny sign once you find the otherwise generic door located down an alley. I asked many locals for directions when I was only 1 -2 blocks away, and nobody had ever heard of it. The Four Corners is very close, and very LOUD. Live music starts early in the morning and continues until late at night. Well after midnight, after the music stops, people walk through the streets shouting & kicking beer bottles. It's never quiet, and you easily hear all the noise from inside the room with all the doors & windows closed. The front desk is only staffed in the morning, so when we could not find the place in the afternoon to check in, nobody was there to answer the phone. There's no elevator and no help, so be prepared to carry all of your own luggage up two flights of narrow stairs. We had a misunderstanding regarding our bill. It worked out fine in the end, but we couldn't just go to the front desk to fix it, we had to do everything online, so something that would have normally taken two minutes wind up taking half a day. Our room had a nice wood floor, but there were tiny nails sticking up through the floor. We normally don't wear shoes inside, but after having the nails tear our socks and poke the soles of our feet, we had to keep our shoes on. For me, the negatives outweighed the positives, and I would not stay here again or recommend this place to anyone else.

My rating is more 4.5. Centrally located, easy walk to restaurants and major sites. I’m not sure why there are so many negative comments about the staff; honestly, all of our interactions were fantastic. Front desk staff helpful and knew our room number. We interacted with various front desk staffs frequently. It was nice to drop off our adorable 5 lb key at the front desk! . Breakfast was generous and abundant. It is in the most gorgeous dining area I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I indulged in some scrambled eggs and bacon; a welcome addition after days of continental bfasts. I had been sick and took a tray to the room to eat for 3 days, not wanting to get other travelers I’ll. Every morning, lovely Inacia, one of the staff members, efficiently put a tray together for me with a smile. The staff worked hard to restock the food and cups/plates. Barbara was our floor maid and always pleasant, had a smile, and helpful. Our TV’s did not work and each maintenance person was helpful and hilarious. It turns out when you do get the tv on, there’s only bbc! But we are not there to watch tv. The hotel is a former palazzo and it is somewhat of a maze, but that’s part of the Italian adventure. It’s a gorgeous hotel and may not be the most updated, but we found it quiet, comfortable, and unobtrusive. Umbrellas available at the front desk for rainy days. We ate at primi piatti across the street but would have tried the hotel restaurant had we another day and I was not under the weather. Bravo to the Eurostar Team- you made our Palermo trip special!

First of all, the location is perfect and the rooftop makes it possible to relax and have the best view over Palermo. Let’s talk about the staff. Never in any destination I’ve meet a staff so friendly, funny, helpful and generous. The hostel has everything you need, kitchen, free food, music instruments, play rooms, amazing outdoor areas, bar, and a pool is upcoming too. The rooms are really clean and spacey. Bed and room temperature is comfortable. The only problem was that I had to leave.

There are no dishes in the room except for two paper cups.:( We asked for two cups, but they gave us plastic ones. This is strange, because the hotel has a bar and a restaurant.
Breakfasts are delicious. The location is a bit far from the center and in a rather dirty area, but there is a beach nearby (albeit very dirty) and a nice tourist promenade with cool restaurants for dinner.
The cleanliness does not correspond to 4*, the rooms are very old.
Located in the central Via Roma, Ibis Styles Palermo Cristal is the ideal starting point to discover Palermo, from the historic center to the business district, passing through the tree-lined boulevards or the seafront promenades. The hotel is very well located a few steps from the main shopping street and a further few steps to the old town and all the main attractions.
The room had everything we needed, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast had a wholesome offering especially on the sweets side, the ricotta cakes were amazing.

The Hotel Vecchio Borgo is very well situated in Palermo ,Sicily, Italy, but for one very large weakness-it is right next to an intersection hosting some of the noisiest party venues in town. On Friday and Saturday nights especially the noise can be deafening, making it difficult to sleep. In addition the hotel has a practice of having “non-working” airconditioning systems. I was told (by the hotel staff) that the airconditioning system is turned off, often to save energy and money. When this happens, and patrons complain, the reception staff use the excuse of saying the system has broken down. If you push them hard enough it can be switched back on, but it will, at some stage, “fail” again. This is important as not only are the rooms then very stuffy, with double-glazed glass, but the the solution offered by the Hotel is for you to open the windows, thereby aggravating the noise problem from the streets below. When I complained to night staff about this their response was that “There is a malfunction, I cannot fix it”. More likely the system is turned off and no one wants to fix it. Their solution is to then offer ear plugs to alleviate the noise problem. Even assuming you can sleep with ear plugs, this does not solve the air-conditioning problem. This is a pity as the Hotel is used by GAdventures as one of its bases in Palermo. I am surprised that GAdventures has not moved to pressure the hotel to fix the problem. If you are doing a GAdventures (or other group) tour, and this is one of their hotels in Palermo, I strongly recommend you look for an alternative which doesn’t use this hotel-not if you want to sleep. In the circumstances I can only advise against staying in this hotel.

The hotel is very basic, no kettle in the rooms virtually no lounge area, just two sofa's in the corridor between reception and restaurant. The staff were pleasant and the sheets were changed every 3/4 days and towels daily. However, the restaurant was a huge problem. We have stayed at hotels over Christmas in Spain, Portugal, Malta, Cyprus, Tunisia and the Canary Islands and never have we had such an abysmal choice of food. We booked half board but, No buffet just a menu with a choice of two starters and two choices of two main dishes. Dessert is extra. I paid for half board, not half of half board, no desserts included?? Virtually half and sometimes all dishes were pasta which is not good if you want to eat healthy or if like me you are diabetic. Breakfast had even less choice. Cereal, bread, croissants, and cakes. One choice of sliced cheese and sliced ham. Yoghurt, tomato juice and peach no orange juice, no hot dishes at all. Cannot recommend this hotel unless you just want a cheap place to sleep. I mentioned the staff were good, i will praise Miguel in the restaurant who besides being multi lingual was very good at his job, trying to find alternatives, some not on the menu, to help with my dietary requirements The Hotel is a 3 star the restaurant i would rate a zero.

I came to Palermo for couple days and my company organized really nice hotel for to stay. It is located not so far from city centre. There is car parking as well if you came by car. Hotel complex located almost in the city but the view from rooms is on mountains. As I saw each room has balcony where guests can seat and drink coffee ☕️:) Breakfasts were perfect 🤩, first of all waiters were always kind and helpful, they were really taking care about guests. The variety of snacks and sweets was crazy in good way. I wanted to try everything. I am not sure about other facilities such as spa, but reception team was always helpful so if guests didn’t know something they were ready to assist. If I will have chance to come again I would be glad to stay in Casena dei Colli.

Outstanding
TTourist32526623807We spent 7 nights here at the start of September and it felt like we’d been there for weeks when we left, so relaxed were we. We’d gone to Palermo as our friend was getting married but wanted to stay outside of the city. We couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Prior to going I’d emailed to ask for a hairdresser recommendation. This was sorted easily and Giuseppe’s sister came to the hotel and put my hair up. She did a wonderful job. The hotel is small and so quiet. We were in room 3 which backed on to the kitchen. I’m a light sleeper and did worry but the soundproofing is excellent. We never heard anything. I slept well every night! The air con was excellent which was much needed due to high temperatures and the room was lovely. It was cleaned every day. The pool is a welcome respite when it’s hot and there’s plenty of loungers and umbrellas. It is close to the beach and the hotel has a key to a gate that cuts off some time. There’s a supermarket about 5 mins walk. It’s small but has everything. Ask staff for recommendations for a local pizza place but book it. You can takeaway too. Nicest pizza I’ve ever had. The hotel’s restaurant is locally known as high quality. We ate there twice and the food is spectacular. Breakfasts are beautiful. If they have sugar donuts get two!! In fact get 2 of everything!! What makes this hotel so special are the staff. They are all fabulous and go out of their way to help and just be friendly. The owner is the same. Jussi, Constanza, Jason, Giuseppe and Valentina THANK YOU. The other staff are just as good but I did not catch their names so sorry! Jussi summed up this hotel. She said she loves to work there which to me says it all. If staff are happy then so are guests. The owner is looking at getting the pool heated next year and considering Christmas openings. I will be going back.
GGuest UserThe hotel was not obvious for us - when we arrived, we drove around for about 10 minutes looking for a sign before parking on the wrong side of the road, and having to call for instructions. It was our fault, as the hotel tried contacting us earlier in the day but we did not have signal to take the call. Once we were instructed to the right place, it was super straightforward as Gianluca buzzed us in remotely, and upon verifying ID, let us into the unit and our bedroom. The lift in the building was super cool - for this experience alone I recommend staying in this hotel.
The room was charming. Our previous hotel was a suite so this felt a bit small, but it was homely all the same. The small downside was how warm it felt in the room. The air conditioning wouldn't work with the windows open, but it wasn't running very strong. At night, we preferred keeping the window open for some fresh air instead. The poster bed added a quaint and romantic feel to the room, and we were absolutely spoilt with a surprise of a bottle of Prosecco as a gift! Of course, the highlight of the whole place was the jacuzzi in the bathroom. As we both had to do some work and also were tired from a road trip, all of these little touches made the stay in this hotel incredibly luxurious for us. I really recommend this place for a romantic getaway or a honeymoon.
GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel two separate times during our stay in Sicily in April 2022. It's a lovely hotel. It's right in the middle of so many sights and felt safe. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with big bathrooms. One of our rooms had a view of the hills and the other was street side. My mom's room had a huge balcony that we spent time on soaking up the sun and the sounds of the city. My main reason for writing this review to highlight the AMAZING care the staff provided to my mom and her friend. They caught COVID and were quarantined to this hotel. I was terrified leaving them in Sicily while I went home but the staff took such good care of them. They knew their room number and would ask how my mom was feeling when she called to order breakfast (which is a great breakfast by the way). They helped coordinate retesting. They reassured my mom and were always available to help. My mom and her friend were living off room service and would rave about how great the food and wine was. One employee in particular, Barbara, went above and beyond. She would stop by to see my mom and help her with whatever she needed, such as going to the supermarket to get medical supplies. They were stuck there over Easter and she even brought my mom a chocolate Easter bunny :) and she brought them flowers too and it really brightened their day. My mom and her friend both said she had such a pleasant personality and made them feel cared about and loved. I truly believe their great service actually helped my mom and her friend recover quicker. It was so reassuring knowing that they were in caring hands. We want to go back as soon as they can and will pick this hotel again. Thank you everyone who works there!
GGuest UserLovely hotel overlooking a piazza. We booked a room with a balcony which was lovely to sit and watch the world go by. It is centrally located with bakeries, restaurants, shops and history right on your doorstep. Although it is a busy road, as is all the center you cannot hear the traffic in the room. The photographs of the Hotel absolutely do not do it justice at all, it is so much better.
GGuest UserFriendly reception staff, very large hotel room with full bathroom and walk in wardrobe, lovely restaurant, lots of seating options and lovely pool (not heated though). Great walking distance from botanical gardens and the old town part of Palermo as well as the marina front.
GGuest UserThe room was okay. The staff was okay. The breakfast wasn’t really good. There wasn’t any kind of fruits, just pastries joghurt and two kind of cold cuts. and streets were really so i wouldn’t go there again. I think if you go to palermo you should go to an apartman or airbnb. We should do that too
GGuest User-Location: the hotel is located in a downtown neighborhood but close to tourist attractions
-Service: the biggest issue we encountered was to check in the hotel upon arrival. Since there is no reception at the building, you’re supposed to contact the hotel owner, William, by phone for getting the keys. However, the breakfasts there were lovely with scenic rooftop view and handmade beverages by the caterer
-Cleanliness: the room is generally clean but there’s no daily cleaning service and windows need to be opened to dispel odors
-Amenities: the best part of the hotel’s amenities was that they got a water dispenser for refilling your water bottles
*the staff there only speak Italian
