Staying in Udaya Ayurveda resort should be a last resort. Had an unpleasant experience staying here. I have travelled across the world and have stayed in different kinds of stays. I can say with conviction that the way this resort takes the Guest for granted is something , i have never experienced elsewhere. The high point of the resort experience was the reception which was impressive managed by a well spoken lady in the reception. The experience beyond that is absolutely terrible. We stayed in wooden cottages for which they charged a premium. What we finally ended up was a filthy unkept dungeon with Rubbish all around the place and a so called pond with Rubbish floating around. The fan was creaking big time, the A/c vent was just left in the middle of the bathroom . Wash basin tap not working and had to be operated with the valve down. Garbage bins with no plastic covers, wardrobe with no hangers , broken and cracked roof, a dirty pillow and bed below a white cover , frogs in the bathroom, tea bags and milk sachets given after repeated requests with no sugar. One mosquito repellent for two rooms The list of shocks is indeed endless. In fact there is nothing Ayurvedic about this place except the name. They have two unkept rooms inside their quite badly maintained employee accommodation in which they offer massage services by calling freelance therapist.( They happened to be good though) They don’t have their own therapist nor treatment centre. The breakfast offered was two dry probably made a day before dosa wrapped in a cellophane plate. Tea or coffee is not offered as part of the breakfast package and needs to be separately paid (. Have never seen this arrangement anywhere) . Another heart wrenching site was the inhuman conditions in which a bunch of dogs are being maintained in the resort area ( probably for breeding). Some of the dogs had serious skin issues and were just left in open. Not something one would want to pay 5 star rates and see. Its such a pity that a property built in such a great location with such a good design is being managed so very badly despite the fact the owner lives inside the same complex. We spend money and visit resorts to see aesthetically maintained clean places and not to see Rubbish and Filth and sick dogs maintained in pathetic conditions. Hope the owner will read this review and decides to spend some portions of the exorbitant amount charged in proper housekeeping of the resort and taking good care of the dogs.
