Great hotel on the beach

Great location overlooking sea. Hotel a bit dated and run down, but very clean and tidy everywhere. Good breakfast. Only had bar snacks that were OK. Service from all staff was very good. Paignton itself is not a very nice place, but gives access to plenty of nice days out.

Couldn’t recommend highly enough. We have just returned from 3 night stay here. We visit the area several times a year but this was our first time at this hotel. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by a lovely receptionist who explained everything we needed to know. The room was lovely. We paid extra to upgrade to a sea view room. Well worth the extra, you couldn’t be closer to the sea without being in it! The views were amazing! The bed was really comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. I guess if I was being critical I would say the decor in the bathroom was a bit dated but it was in perfect condition and very clean. We had the cooked breakfast every morning in the lovely dining room overlooking the sea. Staff were efficient and welcoming, food was lovely. There was a small buffet of juices, fruit, yogurt, pastries and cereal.. hot food cooked to order was delicious. We ate in the restaurant one night , a set menu £30 for three courses and a different menu each day. On the other 2 nights we ate in the bar, standard bar menu well cooked and comfortable friendly atmosphere. The indoor pool was really nice and we even had it ourselves one day. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the pier and harbour and there is plenty of free parking. This will definitely not be our last visit to the redcliffe.

Visited with my Wife for her birthday. This was the second time as same time last year. We loved it last time and this time we were not disappointed, we had the same room same amazing seaview. Generally hotel staff change regularly but we we pleased to see the same faces. Breakfast was great. My son took his girlfriend to this hotel in August and also had a fantastic time

In many holidays in Paignton I often looked at the possibility of staying at the Redcliffe. I managed it this year for 10 nights. Although the hotel is not new, I was impressed with the standards there. Room, even though not having a view, was well decorated with ample facilities. WiFi was excellent. Food was first class and the view from the breakfast diner is the very best. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. I was on my own, my wife of 61 years died last year, but she would have loved the whole experience. In short, it was a real treat. So much so, I have already booked again for next year.

This was our second visit to the Redcliffe Hotel this summer. We agree that some of the rooms are dated although this visit we stayed in room 67 which was just by the lift which for us was a bonus as I have a bad foot, the decor as well as the large bathroom and balcony with sea view was a lovely surprise. This hotel has the most friendliest of staff. The indoor swimming pool along with jacuzzi and steam room are super (my husband used these both days). We dined in the hotel both evenings, first evening from the bar menu which was delicious and the second evening decided to go a little more formal and eat in the restaurant, this was a set menu and for £30 a head was great value. The hotel was lovely and warm considering it’s a large older hotel. Its position is perfect looking over the sea, what could be better the restaurant view is beautiful. Parking is free and we had no problem in finding a space on both visits.

What a lovely sunday's lunch from start to finish. All the staff were really welcoming we had soup and beef dinner ice cream, and I had soup turkey dinner and apple pie with custard at only being £25:00p The view is worth going for, and drinks were not badly priced to

An absolutely brilliant hotel, spotlessly clean, with ample free parking. It was a pleasure to stay here, the staff were very friendly and helpful,ensuring a great stay. Many thanks to all staff. We would come back to the Redcliffe Hotel in a heartbeat!!

My husband telephone booked this hotel for our 44th wedding anniversary he asked for a nice room and explained why. Our very basic small room was overlooking the main front car park and the light filtered through the curtains all night as the curtains were a poor fit the carpet stained and the bathroom net torn the sheets were too small for the mattresses and the quilt covers too big for the quilt with the thinnest pillows I have ever seen.Breakfast was no frills with a limited selection overall poor quality and tired throughout with a lack of attention to detail for the privilege of £154 a night We asked to move to another room which was on their live booking site but were told it’s not what it appears to be you would have to move again for your last night even though it showed it was available for the rest of our stay!!. We would NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL and would NOT EVER go back
