Absolutely Wonderful ❤️ Absolutely Wonderful ❤️ A magical experience with down to earth hosts that understand the true nature of what hospitality means, and presents exceptional experiences for guests. We really needed the break from a long trip to a pure relaxed state within driving up the driveway surrounded by nature. We enjoyed every moment from the hot tub experience to a wonderful hist Marco who takes you not only on a culinary journey but also a personal journey of how he became the first boutique hotel in Norway. An experience to remember and take away knowing you have been well looked after. The food journey was incredible with a personal touch of pure passion for what he does, giving a true experience. Recommendations Fully recommended Its a one in a million experience where you get to indulge yourself in a beautiful natural surrounding with nature, incredible staff and a culinary journey to take your heart away Thank you to everyone, the staff who are amazing souls too. #garystribe #localguide #localguides #letsguide #norway #boutiquehotels

Parfait La nuit typique qu'on desirait trouver en Norvege. Un diner succulent et une digestion à l'extérieur bien installé devant un feu de bois... rien à redire. Un personnel tres souriant

Superior experience Wow, wow, wow. What a fantastic boutique hotel. Every single detail is carefully planned and executed - nothing is left to coincidences. The room, the surroundings, the food (dinner as well as breakfast) is top quality.

Really a nice place to spend your holiday, both in winter and summer! The location has a lot of potential, something beautiful has been set up by the previous owner. However, you can see that the buildings have deteriorated. We had booked the apartment. In itself good, but both the kitchen and bathroom showed some defects such as leaking taps. Kitchen inventory is limited (limited number of pans / kitchen utensils). There is no properly working extractor above the cooking unit. What was most disappointing was the price. First of all the bill for the room. The price that was charged was more than 400.00 EUR higher than what we booked it for. As an argument you are told that you should have read the general terms and conditions, because it states that the prices can change in the meantime... Not a customer-friendly and professional attitude if you ask me. We had dinner at the hotel a few times. There is no choice menu, so you eat what is served. The quality of the dinner was average to good, but to charge more than 75.00 EUR per person for a 3-course meal is too much for me. The breakfast, which was not included in the apartment so is charged additionally, is simple. You have to indicate the day before what and how much you want to eat and it is measured exactly. It's a good thought to avoid food wast, but the price - quality ratio is not ok. For a breakfast you quickly pay 20.00 EUR per person. As for the service, this varies from day to night. Contact with the current owners is mediocre. They do not realize what kind of location they have and what you can achieve with it. They are mainly concerned with getting their own way, do not admit to their own mistakes or errors. The staff team is fine, they make contact easily and are easily accessible.

We stayed for 3 nights and spent the days in the area. The room is ok (we stayed in the Dutch room), some people might think it’s a little small but I thought it was ok. My only issue with it was that it was quite dark (only one main lamp), and that it didn’t smell very nice when we came back from a day outdoors. The last day we left the window open and it was significantly better. Bed is ok, nothing special. I doubt you could sleep in it if you’re above 190cm though. As for the breakfast, they adopt a preorder method by paper. The first day this was quite difficult as there were very few descriptions on what “brown bun” or “white bun” really is. Or “meat”? Chocolate spread turned out to be Nutella or a substitute, cheese was Brie and some standard Norwegian cheese. “Brown bun” was a bake-off bun with some wholemeal. Granola & jam seemed to be store bought as well. In general quite few homemade things on the breakfast. In addition to the things we requested we also got some cucumber, tomatoes and slices of bell peppers. One day we requested a sandwich bag for lunch to bring on our hike. This was also ordered by the breakfast order paper. However, for instance when you ask for cheese and a brown bun, that’s all you get. No greens, condiments or similar. You did get an apple though. This cost 100 NOK per person, so we only did it one day as we thought we could get more value at the supermarket (we could). We had dinner at the hotel one night, it consisted of smoked salmon tartar (seemed to be the same salmon as we could get for breakfast), a main dish of lamb with vegetables and red wine sauce. For dessert we had a brownie and ice cream. Considering the homepage’s explanation of local produce etc I expected a bit more, especially of the breakfast and the dessert. More homemade items and more imaginative desserts than brownie and ice cream. We also did a fly fishing tour. I really appreciated it and would give that tour 5/5. Good gear, good guidance and a very good time. We were unlucky to not catch any fish but that’s hardly the tour’s fault. As a final note, if you book any external tours like horse riding, do check where you’re supposed to be and at which time. The hotel forwarded the booking of our horse tour but didn’t tell us that it started 15mins drive away.
