Ottawa Hotels with Swimming Pools

The hotel is located right by the canal, very close to Parliament Hill. The room facilities are relatively old, but the hygiene is OK. Slippers, shampoo, shower gel, kettle and free water are provided in the room, but there is no toothpaste or toothbrush. The biggest disadvantage is that the air conditioner is a bit loud.

Hi Carson & Mark, and staff: it's J and E, thanks for making our stay 5 stars! This hotel is perfectly located for a stay in Ottawa, being a short 800 metre stroll to the Parliament Buildings, War Memorial, National Arts Centre, Rideau Mall, and very close to the National Garllery of Art and Byward Market . We stayed in Room 2223 which afforded a breath taking view of the entire Ottawa Skyline - treat yourself to this Executive King Corner Room. Breakfast at Spin in the Hotel was very good, and priced fair. In/Out Parking on site is also fair and convenient. The hotel was built in 1972 but is well maintained and kept super clean. BIG shout out to MARK at the Front Desk who is absolutely so Personable and went above and beyond the call of duty for us. And of course...CARSON, what can I say, he is the Manager that all Managers should strive to be, very very accomodating! Thanks Ottawa Marriott...we'll be back soon!!!

Our family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport between connecting flights so our expectation was not high. We always had good experience with other Hampton Inns so this was just an easy choice, assuming a known quality hotel and also close to the airport. The Good about this hotel - 1. close to airport 2. free shuttle (details to follow) 3. has a couple restaurants just across from the parking lot if you don't want to venture out too far 4. check-in was quick The Bad - 1. Free shuttle only starts at 6am so if you need to catch an early flight you'll need to find a taxi. In our case, we had to pre-book a taxi the night before because we needed to get to the airport at 4:30am. 2. The hotel shuttle was just a plain white van with no signs indicating it's for Hampton Inn. Driver was not in any kind of uniform and when I knocked on his window trying to inquire, he came out and yelled 'What's going on'. Well not exactly what I expect a hotel shuttle driver to identify himself that way. When I asked if he's from Hampton Inn the answer was yes. But in retrospect any random guy can give me the same answer and we just kinda need to trust that driver that he's a legitimate Hampton Inn shuttle driver. The whole short trip to the hotel we were wondering if we would end up getting mugged. Just not a good feeling and I think the hotel can handle this a lot better, how hard is it to give this driver an uniform with a hampton inn logo, or print a hampton inn logo on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard. At least something to make your shuttle and driver look a little bit more legitimate and make your guests feel a little bit safer. 3. As mentioned earlier we pre-booked a taxi to pick us up at 4:15am, turns out the front desk forgot to book it for us. When we got down to the lobby and looked for the taxi, that's when the front desk guy realized he forgot about it. So we waited for another 10-12 mins for the taxi to come. (taxi fare from hotel to airport was less than $20) 4. Not all electric outlets are working, in our room the one attached to the side table lamp didn't seem to work. Had to search high and low to have enough outlets to charge 4 phones and 4 apple watches. The Very Bad - The mattress was the absolute worse, I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that have mattresses that dip down about 2 inches and with no support whatsoever. I'm not a big person, but my husband is so the whole night I was sinking and rolling to my husband's side. All I needed was a few hours of sleep between flights and I could not get that because of the mattress. Tossing and turning the whole night and could not find a good position. My back was hurting the next day like I was sleeping on an absolute garbage mattress the night before. We did not use the free breakfast, coffee wasn't ready during our stay, no other amenities were used. Our room in this hotel was fine - comfortable king-size bed, adequate size, and clean. The staff at the front desk seemed a bit overwhelmed, suggesting that they might have been understaffed. However, they were polite and helpful when it was our turn. My issue with this hotel is more based on the exterior - TONS of construction in the neighborhood, leading to road closures everywhere. Fortunately, we were there on a Saturday, so it was quiet - but I can't imagine what it sounds like during a weekday! We also had to park in a surface lot on the next street over (paying $30C for the privilege), as the height limit for their underground parking garage is only 5'7” (!). The lot was basically a construction site headquarters, and unmarked by the hotel. We parked there and crossed our fingers, hoping we were in the right place, and that our car would be there the next morning (it was). Breakfast was mediocre at best - it was equivalent to the standard fare served by Hampton Inns everywhere. At least it's free there - we spent $50C at this hotel! These issues marred our experience, and I would have preferred to stay in an area where there wasn't much construction.

We just stayed for 1 night, the room was clean and comfortable. 25$ for overnight parking was a bit much I felt. The location is not the best for a Saturday/Sunday since it is an office area and almost everything around in walking distance is closed, just Tim Hortons and Startbucks is open.

From the geographical location, it is similar to several other hotels around. It is very close to Capitol Hill. It is no problem for the 4-year-old children to go by themselves. We originally planned to watch the light show, but the baby was not so late. If you don't watch the light show, it is best to live near the market, convenient to eat and drink. Spit the so-called garden view room, through a window of ordinary size, you can see two walls on the left and right (somewhat like a patio), and a narrow street in the distance. I feel that the garden view room is useless. Finally, spit and stop, the hotel does not have self parking, can only give the keys to their people, let them stop. The keys are always in their hands, they want to use the car or take things from the car through them (you can call or go to the lobby to find them, about 10-15 minutes to get the car, depending on how busy they are). Of course, this kind of ”high-end service” is to pay the money (30 knives)... After the spit is finished, the parking service varies from person to person, I don't like it. I wish you a happy trip!

Stayed at the Novotel for a week in early Feb 2023 while attending a conference at the nearby Westin. I booked for a really low rate through hotwire. After a pleasant check in I was excited to come into a very large on the 8th floor with a separate seating area and a very large TV. Room was pretty clean although when packing up before check-in I found some items under the bed that did not belong to me. Location was perfect, right across from the Rideau Centre and the Westin/Conference Centre and within a short walk to the Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street and Byward Market. My only compliant is the walls must be paper thin as I could hear the ding of the elevator and conversations in the hall from my room. I was also there a four hour during a power outage in the evening. I assume the outage was unscheduled but there was a lot of confusion and no one at the front desk when it occurred. The hotel shares a building with a DND office which made it confusing leaving the building by the stairs as the stairway lead to a entrance that read ”DND property alarm will sound”, it took awhile to figure out how to exit by the stairs.

Pretty nice hotel, we were satisfied with our stay. We were visiting for 4 nights 5 days and took advantage of our complimentary breakfast. Was decent minus the coffee. Wasn’t very good but we are picky with our coffee so pretty minor. Location was great as we could walk to just about everything we wanted to see. Rooms were clean and liked the setup. Staff were friendly and the bartender at the restaurant had a great attitude. (Can’t remember his name sorry) If I had one complaint it would be there’s a bit of a wait for elevators when busy as there’s only two to serve 17 floors. Overall very nice hotel, definitely recommend

The living room and kitchen are large, with kitchenware and tableware, which is very convenient if you want to cook. There are two Chinese lunch boxes at the Redeau Shopping Center's dining hall food court next to it, suitable for Chinese stomachs. The view outside the window is also good. It takes more than half an hour to walk to the Governor's Mansion, a quarter of an hour to Capitol Hill, not far from various attractions, and there is a loblaws supermarket next to it for 5 minutes.
