We had to have an extra night in Namibia due to a flight cancellation. This place was put to me and I had no idea what it would be like but agreed. I would have liked another day to appreciate it properly. Loved the view of the waterhole from the room with no animals but many birds. Despite having neighbours, it was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed sitting out on our verandah just watching birds. We were able to hold the room till midday on departure as our flight was not until 8.00pm. A very pleasant stay and I would visit again for 2 nights.

Overall a good place to stay for a night, conveniently located just off the main road between Windhoek and Etosha. This however leaves the impression of a busy place with somewhat cold and impersonal service. The elegant room where I stayed was great, as well as the activities I undertook – an afternoon walk, horse riding and a massage, though the latter two were a bit delayed, leaving me waiting by the reception with no information. At dinnertime I waited for a waiter to show me any attention for about a quarter, while other guests who came after me were already being served. Only after I protested a waiter came and politely apologized, which was accepted, but left me comparing the service at the restaurant with the impeccable service at other lodges on my trip. The food though was excellent and tastefully presented, both dinner, breakfast and at lunchtime. I also enjoyed the presence of many animals around the lodge, that could be observed both from the common areas and the room.

Die Otjiwa-Farm bietet verschiedene Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten. Wir nutzten die Luxusvariante, das Bergcamp. Auf dem 10.500 Hektar großen Gelände bietet das Bergcamp ultimativen Luxus. Die wenigen Chalets sind mit allem ausgestattet, was man sich wünscht. Stilsicher und detailverliebt kommen die Zimmer daher. Ledergepolsterte Sessel, eine Bar im Kolonialreisestil, ein Bad mit zwei Waschbecken, einer Duscheinheit und einer freistehenden Badewanne. In den alten Holzwäscheschrank ist ein Safe eingebaut. Teil des Außenbereichs ist ein privater Pool mit 2m Durchmesser. Das Doppelbett lässt sich durch Canvaswände zusätzlich von der Außenwelt abtrennen. Auf der großzügigen Terrasse stehen zwei Safaristühle um einen Tisch herum.

Very friendly atmosphere within a beautiful Game park incl. white Rhinos. Especifically the Rhino Walk is very nice. One of the bedrooms were not equiped with air conditioner. It was too hot to sleep.

Première étape en Namibie et bonne surprise. Accueil très chaleureux, logement confortable et typique dans une petite maison individuelle. Cuisine excellente. Et une jolie visite dans la réserve avec la découverte à pied des rhinocéros « blancs »

C'était notre dernière étape en Namibie. Nous avons séjourné deux nuits dans le Otjiwa MOUNTAIN lodge. 5 villas grandes et magnifiquements agencées avec beaucoup de goût. Style coloniale. Une équipe au petit soin, un service à la hauteur. Nous avions un package comprenant tous les repas et il faut dire que c'était très bon et très bien servi du petit déjeuner au repas du soir. Le lodge se trouve dans un réserve privée de plus de 10'000 hectares ou des animaux sauvages profitent de cet environnement. Possibilité de voir des rhinocéros blanc, c'est absolument grandiose. D'autres activités payantes sont proposées (vélo électriques, safari au coucher du soleil, cours de cuisine), etc. Les chambres très grandes, tout comme la salle d'eau sont très bien équipées. Minibar inclu dans le prix de la chambre. A recommander sans réserve.

die Lodge war unser letzter Stop unserer Rundreise. wir hatten nicht das klassische "Lodge"feeling (klein und intim) aber dennoch haben wir uns wohlgefühlt Die Elegant rooms würde ich jetzt nicht als luxuriös bezeichnen. Sie sind relativ dunkel, das Badezimmer ist im Vergleich zum Schlafraum riesig. Uns hat etwas gestört, dass sie sind sehr hellhörig sind. Die allgemeinen Bereiche waren sehr ansprechend dekoriert und geräumig. Der Außenbereich ist perfekt zum sitzen und entspannen oder einen guten Cocktail oder einen Mittagssnack zu genießen. Pluspunkt der Lodge - ein grosses Angebot an Aktivitäten zu angemessenen Preisen. Wir haben am Rhino Tracking frühmorgens teilgenommen und hatten das Glück, sogar an 2 verschiedenen Stelle welche anzutreffen! weiterer Pluspunkt - das Essen kann absolut mit weit exklusiveren (teureren) Lodges mithalten. Gute Auswahl sowohl zum Frühstück als auch beim Abendessen, sehr frische Gerichte. Die Lodge setzt auf lokale Zutaten und das spürt man in der Qualität der Speisen. Das gesamte Personal war freundlich und immer bemüht. Nur Fragen zum Waterberg Plateau NP (wir hatten nur widersprüchliche Infos bzgl. der Öffnungszeiten und Wandertouren im Internet gefunden) , welcher sich perfekt für einen Tagesausflug anbietet, konnten leider nicht beantwortet werden. Wenn man keine hohen Ansprüche an die Unterbringung hat, ist die Otjiwa Lodge eine gute Wahl.
