The appearance is not popular. The entrance is manual, not automatic, and is half empty. Slippers are disposable. There are various things at the front desk (cans of insecticide, etc.) The room is old. The futon and bed are acceptable. There is a TV and refrigerator. The refrigerator takes a long time to cool down. The toilet was average. There was no sign that the bathroom floor had been cleaned. There are towels and bath towels in the changing room of the bath. There are disposable toothbrushes and razors. I have an interdental brush, but I'm too scared to use it. There was no sign that the floor was being cleaned. The bathroom is average. The water was hot but felt good. Shampoo is usually fine. A cockroach appears in the room. Be careful not to get stung. The breakfast is voluminous, but I don't think it's to the taste of Japanese people. I have no appetite. I have a glass cup, but I don't have the courage to use it. The table is not dirty. Friendly staff and good restaurant. Our tour guide Gretchen was amazing. She provided information on trips, then a complete history/description of the island and the facilities as we circled on the boat she reserved for us. Perfect location if you are trying to walk and explore White Beach. The pool is great to cool off and the beach has amazing sunsets. This was perfect for my family, 6 and 2 year old kids. Band plays until 11pm but they let you know that in there hotel details up front. Recommend the hotel and Gretchen for all your tours/excursions.

Automatic doors do not operate automatically. There is an antique PC on the counter that is not working at all. The toilets are not cleaned properly. The room has a strange smell. The rice is extremely tasteless. The service is terrible, as the employees get angry if they don't like it. A local asked me where I was staying, and I said ``Mandarin Island Hotel.'' When I answered, I was told that I should cancel immediately, so I made the reservation through a travel agency's website, so... I thought it wouldn't be the worst, but it was far worse than I expected. I'm surprised that accommodation facilities like this exist in Japan. Even overseas, this level is hard to find.
