Hotels Near Dr. Phillips Splash Pad in Orlando

My Husband and I stayed another night and also booked one more night . This place is so amazing and very clean. The maintenance guys are very fast. Are a/c went out and told them that morning and they got it fixed. The security guards here are so nice and on top of there game.. very safe here cause of them. The housekeepers are also good at there job. Very friendly and very fast in bring what you need for your next stay over even if it's something you need when you check in. I Love this place and we will be back and we will be bring are kids on are next trip back to Florida. I give them a 10. We will be back. I recommend this place.. The hotel is renovated and accommodations were fine and it is one of the better quality hotel choices in the busy and very touristy Orlando center. Also, breakfast selection was surprisingly good and plentiful for the typical selection for the Holiday Inn Express brand. The reasons for not giving the hotel 5 stars are below: 1) the bathroom sink in the room was clogged upon check in. 2) guests were allowed to consume alcohol and to smoke heavily in the pool area right next to many small children and other guests who did not appreciate being exposed to second hand smoke. As a public health policy, smoking should only be allowed in remote designated areas and not in the pool ares which is full of small children. 3) At times there was no staff at the reception and the staff that I did communicate with either spoke very poor English (or none at all, the assumption was that everyone should be speaking Spanish) or appeared to be genuinely disinterested and didn't pay attention to customers' concerns.

The Fairfield at Marriott Village is a great holiday. The location is so wonderful that regretfully, we did not have an opportunity to use the hotel amenities such as the pool etc. We did have breakfast daily, which had a good selection of hot items, breads and cereals. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were delicious. Our rooms were large and spacious, with great air conditioning, lovely hot showers and sufficient tv channels. The beds and rooms were very clean. It is very handy that there are washers and dryers and ice machines on every floor or every other floor. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the parks but we preferred to drive to be able to leave and return to the park, for necessary breaks in the height of the heat. Would happily stay there again. There are 2 other hotels on the property (Courtyard and Springhill). I imagine these are more upscale. I would have appreciated an offer to ”upgrade” at a nominal fee to experience.

I was a little nervous to stay here after recent reviews, I'm not sure if I was lucky with the room I got or if others look for more to complain about...but I could fault it. I have previously stayed at the Avanti Hotel but recent reviews there put me off staying. Yes the rooms are dated, most of these motel type hotels are, but the room was spotless which to me is the most important thing. We had taken some wipes to clean down surfaces etc just to be cautious but every wipe came up clean, top marks! Everything in the room worked as expected, fridge was good as was the microwave. Excellent location, we didn't use the pool but it looked good. Only slight issue was the Hurricane, the fire alarm went off twice as a false alarm...but these things happen. & there was some water leakage into the room from the door, which by our last day had caused a not very pleasant smell. But I'm not blaming the hotel for this & I assume they would have had a way to resolve this had we been staying longer & mentioned it! Our room was in block 3000, top floor facing the pool, no issues with noise - I doubt any room facing the pool would have an issue. Good view from the top floor too over to Volcano Bay. Happy to recommend the hotel for couples, families etc. I'd certainly be happy to stay here again for a future Orlando holiday!

The facility itself was good overall. There was no coffee maker or microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was the same thing everyday. Other than that the location was great, there's a wawa across the street. A smokehouse pizzeria massage parlor.

I wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what?? Excellent location and very convenient for anyone visiting Universal Studios. Pools are a must and the hotel is very friendly overall. Highlights: airport shuttle (paid, Universal ShuttleStar), bus transportation to Citywalk all day every couple minutes (included), park early entrance (included), pools open till 10pm, market and Starbucks in the lobby. And, the biggest plus for me was the fact that they don’t have a strict check in rule: as long as they have a room available, you may check in (if you’re traveling in crazy hours with kids, this makes all the difference!). Staff is great, very friendly and helpful despite the hotel being very busy at all times. Rooms are clean - you don’t get service everyday but you can ask for anything and they leave you at your door. Again, despite the hotel being very crowded, kids running everywhere, everything was clean at all times. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed for three nights. I checked in late on the first day and couldn't see any pool view from the pool view room. There was noise in the room and it was not repaired at 2 am. Even if there is no mineral water, slippers, toothbrushes, etc., the main problem is that there is no quilt, so I can only ask them for a blanket like a bath towel, and the bed sheets are very frizzy. The good thing is that I changed rooms the next day and had a good view. Moreover, there are many bus trips to and from Universal, which is more convenient, and you can enter the park one hour early.

We live in Daytona Beach and needed a hotel near airport for early next day flight to Jamaica for our wedding!...with airport shuttle and place to leave our car. Check, check and check! Only problem is that shuttle would not pick us up at Terminal C. They dropped us off there, but apparently got in trouble for doing so. That should be included in the amenities list.

Pool had sun on it most of the day, without any buildings blocking the sun. Stayed over a week. The place is a little dated, but very clean. The 2 bedroom rooms were large. Breakfast were good and different each day.
