I was thrilled to experience Jamaica for the first time, and as it happens we were extremely fortunate to have our stay at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. From our initial welcome by Tobian on the concierge team, to our last day exit the experience was top-notch. I highly recommend the resort. Everyone contributed to our enjoyment and appreciation for the beautiful country of Jamaica and our lovely resort, but to add some specific names, we thank Tobian, who gave us our first impression of the resort's quality, Cleon, who was heading the concierge team for our stay, and Andre, Aldain, Sashana, and Tafari who were also a part of the concierge team and were always there to lend a helping hand; Kadian McPherson front desk manager, the sous chef Chef Myrie, also Chef Kenroy, Chef Fitzroy, Chef Sheldon, Mrs. Barrett, and the entire restaurant staff who made all of our dining experiences memorable and delectable. We appreciate Mr. MacFarlane and the security team for keeping us safe during our stay. Our thanks also to Ms. Allen, Mr. Jackson, and the housekeeping team for keeping up our accommodations during our visit. We learned so much during our on-site botanical gardens tour from head gardener Lynford, his expertise aided our enthusiasm for the lovely plants, flowers, and birds we observed. I was able to receive an impromptu swimming lesson gratis from Clavon at the pool, and my thanks to him for his suggestions to improve my fitness. I do not have names,but thank you to the gentlemen and ladies who staffed poolside bar, especially the gentleman working the day of 7 August 2022. Also thank you to the other bartenders who also provided us with lovely beverage concoctions. On our excursions to YS Falls and Black River (highly recommended) our driver Mr. Sinclair was a literal fount of knowledge, not only providing a singularly smooth ride, but also giving us detailed information about the parishes and towns we passed through, and making our day trip the most memorable and delightful. Thanks also to Lacia at the gift shop, we purchased some needed items there, and quality was high. We enjoyed some entertaining nights on site as well, with the inimitable piano playing skills of Paul, who has a vast and varied repertoire that we were able to enjoy. I could go on and on! Experience was not bad but due to covid19 some of the restaurants were close, liquor was not the best, food was sub-par. I had a decent time because I was with my friends and we had a swim out pool so we basically hang out there for our stay. Would go bk but only after covid when everything is back to normal.

Check in went bizarrely unhinged and mismanaged. The next day management visited to rectify the horror. Overall service was above average in most departments. I rebooked because nothing is perfect and amendments were offered.

Just got here and I am already so dissatisfied that I’m considering moving locations. We’re here with a wedding party and you would think that they would be better prepared for a group. It took us over 3 hours to get our room and this was after being told 10 more minutes an infinite number of times. Finally we were told that 1 of our two rooms is ready and the other should be ready in a matter of minutes, we’re on the 3 floor with no elevator and we have a baby with a stroller and car seat. Speaking of my baby, there was no crib or bassinet in the room so I’m not sure where he’s supposed to sleep. I’ve called the desk to request one and no one has answered. Btw the room next door where my mother in law is supposed to be staying is empty with the door ajar and it looks like the room as TRASHED by the previous occupants so I’m not sure how it will be ready in a few minutes. We were given the run around for HOURS today and I’m not sure why this hotel is so expensive because I haven’t experienced a lick of proper customer service, nor any amenities yet that would justify the price. This is going to be a particularly long 4 days
