King's Cliff

Firstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested). To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration. The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated. The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake. In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

Great place to visit with family. Grear scenerary . Nice view from rooms.Good hospitality. It is situated within city limits. Food was good and prepared with quality. Indrajit and monish served us well. Will visit again in future. Thank you.

Check-in was quick and smooth, thanks to the friendly staff. The suite I was assigned featured a spacious bedroom, a large bathroom, and a smaller room with a wardrobe. The food offered was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. However, there were significant downsides to my experience. Ooty's ban on plastic means that hotels provide drinking water in glass bottles. Unfortunately, one of the bottles in my room had a thick layer of green algae, which was concerning. I’m relieved I didn’t fall ill. Additionally, the bedsheets were stained, which was disappointing. Although the instruction menu stated that hot water would be available from 6 to 10 AM and PM, it was inconsistent. Despite the Little Earth Group's claims of eco-friendly practices, I had to waste 2-3 buckets of water before hot water would finally come through. The resort offers complimentary high tea from 5 to 5:30 PM. When I arrived around 5:20, I found there were no snacks available, and I had to order tea and wait. After reminding two staff members, I finally received my tea after a 15-minute wait, but they completely forgot to bring the snacks. BEWARE, King’s Cliff seems to cater to large groups, hosting noisy parties. During my stay, one such event went on until about 2:30 AM, with loud music and excited guests screaming their lungs out. Despite several requests to the staff for some peace and quiet, my concerns were not addressed.

The stay was very good and staff is very cooperative and good natured. Special thanks to mr. Shekhar he is very good person and all staff including reception is very good. The view from hotel is very good also is it very breathtaking place. Very open and specious.

Kings cliff resort in Ooty is really nice and rustic, kind of old vintage touch. Food quality and quantity is good, chef Indrajith was kind and helpful during breakfast. They have maintained the garden and property beautifully Place is calm and peaceful Price for food is at bit higher price

Great stay! The heritage hotel is well preserved and imitates the colonial style really well. The rooms and outdoors are beautiful, as well as the many views that can be spotted from locations across the hotel. The food is excellent, I tried the broccoli soup and apple pie and enjoyed both. The hotel management is polite and helpful.

This is one of the best resort for stay in ooty.. I recently traveled to ooty ***** with my family and the front office coordinated the while logistics very smoothly ensuring that we get the best room with best price. The hospitality from the staff is top notch, food from the earl's secret restaurant is a must try.. although it will put some hole in ur pocket, the food is delicious.. overall a pleasant and beautiful experience with this place
