The Monarch Hotel

Well, calling this a disaster would be an understatement. I stayed here for one night, and I’m beyond grateful I didn’t stay longer. The property, especially the rooms, is in terrible condition, and I strongly advise against booking this place under any circumstances. The service is dreadful. While the staff at the café is kind, the hotel is horribly understaffed, and the rates are on par with newer properties in Ooty, which is completely unjustified. This place isn’t worth 3000 per night per room, and the food is average at best. Honestly, there’s nothing good about this place, so do yourself a favor and don’t waste your hard-earned money here. We paid 15,000 for two rooms after negotiating, as they initially asked for 17,000. But even then, upon arrival, we had to argue for the discount. Also, the rooms weren’t ready for check-in, and it took us exactly two hours to get everything sorted. The staff at the café is polite and friendly, but they definitely need more training when it comes to food and beverage service. Few highlights: Toiletries - tissue roll stand and tissue both missing. Sit outs - were dirty. Fixtures - Old & wearing out. Water - Jar kept, no bottled water. There is more...........

there was no assistance at the main gate. staff seams to be little rude but professional. Billing and reception can be better.

Had a great weekend with family, clean big room. Good food and excellent views the views from the property I s excellent, the tea garden across the road has great views The pool indoors I s also good. Disco was under maintenance Overall we had a great holiday

Don’t expect too much from this hotel, old building and only lawn is attractive nothing else. Breakfast is not that great

Good the ambiance was good and lived the place but had a problem with booking as wanted to modify my dates of booking which was not possible and had to come back early and my one day booking was waste and they was no refund

Good stay..pleasant one.. it was highly enriching experience for me and would visit the place next time for sure.. Good hospitality..it was a pleasant stay at the Hotel..will surely recommend this for any upcoming stays in Ooty..

Centrally located property, near tourist spot, some food item is good & some items are average, the pictures shown is not matching, toilet condition is very bad, even not provided toiletries basic, as per given rating and rate it's not upto the mark need to improvement, staff is very cooperative

Old is gold, that describes this property the best. Excellent service, warm behaviour, unmatched hospitality with an extra touch of personalised care. Superb staff around to make the stay a memorable one. Regards soham
