Hotels Near Taicho-in Temple in Onomichi

This is a wonderful hotel, unfortunately we were put into the smallest room, one that was so small and filled with unusable furniture that there was no space for one guest let alone two. Getting around meant one person had to stay on the bed while the other crawled to the sink or shower room. The room was so tiny that staying in it was a constant source of tension, the kind of tension that can ruin a vacation. It was so small, it was almost impossible to step into the room and move aside so you could close the door behind you. There is a similar problem maneuvering into the shower. So if you want to stay in this hotel definitely ask not to be put in room 214. It's torture. Management would do well to remove the bed, the nightstand, the chair (which cannot be used because it has to be crammed so close to the small bed), and the small table next to the chair that also cannot be used. Replace the furniture with tatami, futons and a couple of pads to sit on. Now, moving on from the agitation of being sentenced to Room 214, this hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel and the Onomichi train station share the same building -- a brand new building -- so as soon as you step off the train, you're at your hotel. Also, the building is completely soundproof. You will not hear or feel trains rumbling by or any noise from the bus and car traffic from in front of the hotel. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, not just high ceilings but vaulted ceilings, which I'm sure would have felt luxurious had we not been stuck in Room 214. The rooms also have high windows that give you a lot of ambient light and, I'm sure, great views from some of the rooms. Before being pointed to your room, you are brought to an amenity counter and allowed to take as many packets of luxury face washes, night creams and other cosmetics as you desire. A N'espresso machine and coffee capsules await you in your room. Once again, this is a wonderfully charming and modern hotel in a wonderfully charming and funky city. We plan to return to Onomichi when it is not so hot -- and stay in this hotel. But we'll ask for a larger room.

It is a retro with a fragrance of Showa. But very convenient location to go anywhere. The station is within walking distance, and the rapeway is also nearby, and the food shop is satisfactory. Onomichi Ramen was next door, but unfortunately Friday was a regular day. When I checked out the next day, I saw a line before the opening. It is a business hotel, so it is small, but I was happy because there was a shelf that was easy to use. Also, there is a free smartphone, and I think it is a very generous service for foreigners. There was a free parking lot in the first order and it was saved for morning sightseeing because it was left until 11:00 in the morning. The staff was light 々, but it was kind to press the button of the slow elevator or lend me an umbrella when I saw it, and it was surprisingly pleasant. I thought I would like to work hard because there is no such hotel in 々 now.

Bella Vista Spa & Marina Onomichi is a small luxury resort hotel with just 44 total rooms. This area is known for ship building; the original property served as a serviced guest house for people involved in the industry beginning in 1973. The present property was established in 2007, offering rooms with ocean views and a spa. The property grounds is quite vast - it's perched on a hill overlooking the stunning Seto Inland Sea and the Bella Vista Marina at the water's edge. There are walkways throughout that offer nice vantage points by which to appreciate the scenic beauty of this area of Japan. The outdoor terrace stretches directly from the main indoor common area and has uninhibited views of the Seto Inland Sea. In the middle of the terrace is a stretch of water that appears to flow directly into the ocean (even though the Ocean is quite a ways away) - the water is less than 10cm deep and isn't meant for swimming; it's strictly for show, and it's probably the most Instragrammable aspect of the resort. And, especially in the Summer time, you'll have the ability to enjoy the infinity pool as well as partake in numerous activities (both onsite and outside the property), such as a beach BBQ and island hopping. There's also a ribbon chapel on the property grounds that has won numerous design awards, and I'd imagine that it would serve as a wonderful venue for weddings. In the resort itself, there's a nice spa facility as well as three different restaurants serving Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine (using local ingredients and recipes.) We stayed in the Panorama Terrace Suite, which was quite large 100m² and the third from the top category room at Bella Vista. The best room is the Bella Vista Maisonette Spa Suite, but we passed on it because we generally avoid Maisonette-style layouts, while The Bella Vista is similar to the Panorama Terrace Suite, except that it has it has an open air bath with a view of the Ocean; The Bella Vista was already booked when we tried to reserve it. While our room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean, it was showing its age somewhat. It could probably benefit from a refurbishment within the next few years, especially given the room rates that they charge here. There is a dearth of power outlets as well, which is further evidence that it was built more than a decade ago. The room has a stand-alone bath tub, but it's not Onsen (natural hot springs.) In fact, there's no longer Onsen anywhere on site - supposedly, Onsen stopped flowing about 7 years ago, and that was that. It's a shame, given that there is ”Spa” in the property's name, but a Japanese Spa resort without Onsen is a bit of a misnomer if you ask me. Not their fault, but them's the facts. Dining wise, Bella Vista offers 3 options - Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine. All three of the restaurants serve dishes using the very best of local ingredients from both land and sea. I stayed in a single room with him for one night. The car stopped at a nearby shopping mall parking lot for 700 yen a night. I got a PET bottle of water at the front desk😊 The room was happy to see the Shinkansen in the corner room 🚄 The room was also large, and the bed was also 2 people, and I could sleep slowly. The pillow was good with a height. I thought it was convenient with a range 🍱 I think it was a hotel with no complaints. It was a very helpful hotel at an affordable hotel. The location is very good, very close to Fukuyama, next to the Fresta supermarket, near the department store, the hostel has a large bath for free, the price is cheap, the price is very high, the staff is also kind, and the luggage can be stored on the same day. Not much to say, I am very satisfied. It is quite satisfactory for a hotel I have stayed in Japan. The bed is very comfortable and the space is large enough. Fukuyama Castle is right next to it and you can also go sightseeing. Although there is nothing to see, it is recommended.

We stayed here to see the team lab ”Light Festival” at Fukuyama Castle. This is the second time I use it. It was a room with a view of Fukuyama Castle in front of me. I was impressed to see the whole of the ”Light Festival” from the window of the room at night. The room is clean and clean. I'm glad that the bathroom is separate. It's nice to have a large bath. The location is right next to Fukuyama Station (you can see the departure and arrival of Shinkansen and trains from the window lol), there are many restaurants, and the bus terminal is right next to it, so it is convenient to move anyway. Breakfast is a cafe on the first floor. It's a pity that it's not a buffet style for me, but if you can choose Japanese or Western style, the call bell will ring, so it's a style to go pick it up by yourself.

Although it is located near the airport, the birds sing comfortably, the waterfowl stands in the pond behind, and the scenery of the four seasons 々 is enjoyable, such as autumn leaves at this time. In addition, the garden with beautifully maintained lawns and the staff's hearty Christmas illuminations are also attractive in winter. Furthermore, the food after the walk is delicious. The kaiseki cuisine made the most of the ingredients such as Seto Inland Sea fish, local vegetables and carefully raised Japanese beef, which was memorable.
