We visited six senses Laamu for the first time two years ago and were lucky enough to go back in January this year. The first time we went was magical but somehow the second was even better. We felt immediately relaxed as soon as we got onto the island, it is like stepping into a luxury postcard. This time we were in a villa that faced the sea grass and I cannot recommend this enough. Being so close to such a vibrant and important habitat was an incredible experience, we saw turtles, rays, big fish, baby fish, and a cuttlefish just from the villa and we saw even more in the water. The food was fantastic and all the service staff were beyond lovely, the perfect balance of friendly and helpful while still giving you space to enjoy our meals together as a family. We are also a family full of allergies and this was managed really well and we were still given so much choice of amazing food. This time we had Sina as our GEM and he really was a gem of a human. He took care of everything for us while we were there and made the whole holiday feel seamless even though we were choosing activities as we went. This time we made more use of the spa's daily activities and all had private treatments also. The massages were very relaxing and helped alleviate some of my chronic pain which was an unexpected bonus. My favourite bit of the whole holiday though was interacting with members of the MUI team who work out of the SHELL. Seeing the research they do there and the conservation they facilitate is pretty awe inspiring, and all the information presented about local wildlife and their habitats is fascinating. They recently set up new coral nursery tanks to add another branch to their coral restoration abilities which was super interesting to see and learn about. With the resident coral researcher Coco we did some coral micro fragmenting to contribute to this, which such an interesting and fun experience. He made us feel so at ease and capable, he is as absolute credit to the MUI team. And the whole MUI team is a credit to six senses Laamu, our experience of staying there would not be the same without them On our last night we did a private dolphin cruise and if you get the opportunity I would urge you to do it because it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. For the first half hour of our 1h trip we didn't see dolphins and didn't think we were going to but being out on the boat in such a beautiful place while the sun was setting was so lovely we didn't mind. But then the Coco, the marine biologist with us, spotted a pod of dolphins and the boat crew were were able to take us closer to them. Amazingly the dolphins then came right up to the bow of the boat and surrounded us. Thanks to the skills of the boat crew we were able to stay with the dolphins without causing them stress for a long time. We could see them playing under the water and jumping and spinning out of it, we saw grown adults, smaller ones and even babies! And we were close eno
