In eerste instantie werd ik niet geholpen in het restaurant want het was gesloten voor particulieren. Maar omdat ik zakelijk onderweg was, mocht ik wel plaats nemen en zou de tafel gedekt worden en het menu worden toegelicht. Echter, na 20 minuten wachten ben ik maar opgestaan en het dorp ingereden. Daar een goede Argentijn gevonden: aanrader! Een bijzondere rare manier om met je gasten om te gaan.

Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding niet oke. Kleine standaard kamer. Veel te duur voor hetgeen geboden wordt. Onprofessioneel. Diner locatie niet gezellig. Kwaliteit eten benedenpeil. Veel te duur voor hetgeen je krijgt

Hotellet lå fint til i et skogsområde med turstier like ved et lite slott. Var uheldige og fikk et rom ut mot parkeringsplass med broleggingsarbeid. Dyrt hotellrom -lite bad og toalett. Ingen airconditioner.God frokost

We stayed Thursday and Friday nights. The Thursday was really weird; empty, staff hard to find etc. The room itself is definitely 3* and no more, but the beds/linen etc are clean and good quality. It’s more of a high end conference centre than a hotel. The first breakfast was equally odd, no one from the hotel spoke to us at all!
We ate in Lieden both nights, which with a hired bike was great.
Second breakfast was a totally different experience and what I’d expect from a hotel.
The grounds of the castle (which isn’t the accommodation or dining room etc) were excellent. Well kept and tidy.
Overall, weekend service was great. Mid week less so.

Absolutely worth it. Went in mid spring, and the grounds are gorgeous, lovely to explore or take a stroll in. The area was lovely too - cute little shops, restaurants, and charming old houses on cobblestoned streets. Very peaceful, safe, and quiet. 15 minute walk to the nearest bus station to head into Leiden Centraal (nearest major train station), so transport is still coinvent.

We waren niet echt welkom, beide dagen werden we heel ongastvrij ontvangen. Terwijl we gereserveerd hadden, bleek er niet op ons gerekend met de lunch en de dag erop waren we niet welkom voor het ontbijt. Terwijl het hotel zelf een probleem had met een overboeking en ons naar een nabijgelegen hotel gestuurd hadden voor de overnachting, maar met de mededeling dat we bij Poelgeest konden ontbijten
