Pousada Vila Óbidos

Bel emplacement, service agréable. Attention, il n’y a pas de piscine. Celle-ci se trouve dans un autre établissement du groupe. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Este é um hotel para aproveitar a experiência de hospedagem dentro dos muros de uma cidade medieval. Da janela do quarto vemos a muralha, um espetáculo. Apesar de ser uma construção muito antiga, a pousada está totalmente reformada, linda e funcional. Os quartos são amplos, bem decorados, com cama queen size, banheiro com ducha de água quente central (não é chuveiro elétrico), enfim, excelente. O café da manhã não está incluso na diária. Não é permitido estacionar por perto. Existe uma porta na muralha poucos metros da pousada, mas tem que ir andando, então recomendo que vá com pouca bagagem. A poucos metros da pousada tem vários restaurantes, cafeterias e lojas de souvenirs e é possível caminhar na beirada dos muros e apreciar lindas paisagens (passeio imperdível).

La camera, nella sua essenzialità, è adeguatamente grande, confortevole e pulita. Molto bello trovare sul tavolino in camera un omaggio con bottiglietta di Ginja e due bicchierini di cioccolato. La posizione è dentro mura, quindi la rende strategica per visitare il paese ma nel contempo la priva dei parcheggi. Suggerito andare a parcheggiare dietro alla pastelaria Arcus, subito fuori porta e poi farsi un po' di stradini in salita e ciottolati, quindi meglio portarsi valigia leggera! Ci ha accolto una ragazza molto gentile (attenzione, se arrivate tardi il check-in è al castello, più in alto) e il fatto di essere clienti ci ha permesso di entrare anche all'altra pousada nel castello, per fare un giro con vista in zone normalmente non accessibili ai turisti. Colazione semplice ma buona.

...looking for Pousada Vila Obidos! This is how our difficulties and problems arose. We arrive late afternoon after having contacted advising the time at which we would arrive at our destination. Everything OK. Parked as expected outside the walls, I called the number on our reservation again. Answer: go to reception to register and get the keys to access our room. The reception was located in another structure still within the walls. I'll go to the reception where we got along with extreme difficulty. Register me and my husband, then I ask if someone can accompany me to the Pousada where we have our room. It was now dark and the map was very confusing. My question was not enthusiastic but a hotel employee was asked to guide me. We walk along the main street and when we reach the corner of an alley he tells me to go up and I will find the structure. He goes back to the other hotel. I go up the steps but in the dark, no illuminated signs or lights helped me find the structure. After several attempts, after asking the nearby places for information, I return to the reception very disappointed. The same boy returns with me and this time leads me to the entrance and gives me the directions to access. This behavior seemed really rude to me from everyone: reception, companion. They could have been kinder and above all they could have led me immediately to the entrance of the Pousada. The room was small compared to the photos on the site but was still clean and nice as was the bathroom. On the ground floor a room for breakfast with cups, tea and sugar available. I hope that this experience does not happen to other guests because during the day everything is easier while in the dark this becomes really complicated. It seems almost useless to point out that accompanying guests is polite and courtesy. In other places-structures where we went during our holiday the staff had always been very kind and helpful.

Friendly staff, beautiful new facilities and 5-star service. If you are looking for a stay in a historic site, the Óbidos guesthouses are without a doubt the best option. It is also good for guests to keep this in mind, when booking a stay in Óbidos they have to keep in mind the experience they are buying, they are buying an experience in a castle and not in a city hotel.
