Great service and friendly staff. I really enjoyed atmosphere outside of the hotel and hot springs. Especially dinner and breakfast both included was amazing:)

The riverside house can directly see the street view, the catering is very good, and the service is very considerate. There is a waterfall and a mine in the village for walking, and the hot spring can be used at Yinshan Villa. It can be said to be an advantageous case of protecting old buildings🏘️ and revitalizing remote mountainous areas.

We had an exceptional time at this ryokan, it was perfect for a one day get away. The dinner and breakfast were very, very good, the onsen was super relaxing, and the room was very specious and filled with amenities. All set in a picturesque little town. We’ll be ack!

If you go to Ginzan Hot Spring in winter, it is recommended to stay at this hotel. It is right next to the hot spring street. Taking photos in the morning or evening can avoid the crowds, making it easier to take ideal photos. The hot springs in the hotel are not large, but you can go to the sister store Ginzanso to soak in the hot springs and enjoy the first-class outdoor hot springs.

The sound of the boiler outside was loud. Also, the futon was just wrapped in a sheet, so if you turned over in your sleep, it would flip up and it was uncomfortable to sleep. It was also unsanitary. The room and the building were quite dilapidated.

Ginzan Onsen is a hot spring resort with a wonderful Taisho-era romantic atmosphere. We were planning a trip around Tohoku, and we had been researching the possibility of staying at a hotel in Ginzan Onsen. It was about six months before we planned our trip. Looking at the website of Kosekiya Annex, we found that there was still availability on the day we were going to visit Ginzan Onsen. Kosekiya Annex is famous and popular among the hot spring hotels in Ginzan Onsen, so we made a reservation right away. We were also able to get a room on the river side, of which there are only a limited number. Then, in the fall six months later, there was a parking lot reserved for Kosekiya at the entrance to Ginzan Onsen, and we called to be picked up from there. Even the hotel's shuttle car can only go up to the edge of the hot spring town. We arrived in time for the 3 o'clock check-in time, so we were able to enjoy the inn and the hot spring town to the fullest. Our guest room was a pair of Japanese-style rooms facing the river, but the room at the back had a twin bed. From the window of our room, we could see the hot spring town as it went into the evening, the night view lit by gas lamps, and the early morning when no one was around. The food was good, and the retro hot springs were wonderful. Best of all, by staying overnight, I was able to fully experience the Ginzan Onsen deserted environment.

First of all, please not that this place (Ginzan Onsen, not this hotel) is VERY popular in Japan (as well as other countries, especially China), so you must book very early (6-7 months in summer, 1 year minimum during winter). So, this being said: - if this is your first time in a ryokan, you will be amazed. Nevertheless, the interior was quite old and dusty. The state of the facilities are not that good, even if one can see they are well cleaned ... they are simply old and need urgent refurbishment, especially given the high prices charged - on the other hand, the magic of the place compensates this. But it would be so simple to modernize it, especially the entrance area (it looks like a storage area !, great contrast with the other ryokans in the area, it's a pitty). - the food was great, exactly what you would expect in this price range for a ryokan - the baths are OK, if you want something special use the ones (exterior) in the "sister" hotel, they are great. (-) the big negative point for me was some of the staff and the way they seem to treat non Japanese guests; from the guy at check-in that started shouting "no reservation, full" because he didn't understood we have already a reservation ... (he never apologized). and the check-out where they showed us where to leave the luggage before leaving and that was everything. No goodbye when we came back to take the luggage, no help to the shuttle, nothing. Also, I think It's the very first ryokan I've visited where the staff insists we should take the luggage to our room ... without offering to help us or anything. Extremely disappointing and I think the level is so low because they have too many clients, people will keep coming even with substandard quality. It may not be strange if you don't know how a ryokan works but it' not good.... PS1: get a room on the front side (river), the back side is pretty sad. PS2: try to get outside of the "main street" of the "village" and do a stroll in the mountains around the Onsen, it's a great experience. Also, the best visit we did was after 21h00, when most tourists are in their best... it was great !

I told you that I have a food allergy when I made the reservation (more than a month ago). At the time of check-in, I was suddenly forced to sign a very small document. Roughly speaking, it seems that it was written that "We will respond to allergies, but we cannot guarantee safety. Please understand that we are far from medical facilities." When I asked for a copy of the documents, they refused. Ordinarily, such documents should be sent at the time of booking to make them think carefully. I don't think it's something to sign at the last minute when you can't change to another inn. In addition, I knew that such a thing had no legal effect, so I signed it, but it made me uncomfortable all at once.
