Luxurious, stunning views from the rooms overlooking the city, clean, amazing pool and fantastic buffet breakfast! We had a great time. The service was sometimes a little testy at the desk and in the restaurant, but otherwise, really made our trip with the family a great balance of luxury and opportunity to explore downtown (though probably want a taxi to the center--it's only a 15 minute walk, but along a busy road).

The hotel is fine in that it is clean, and the AC blows cold. It's pretty straight forward in that regard, but it has no character, coffee is made from a syrup, the breakfast is merely edible, and it's situated at the extreme north end of the Colonial District. There is a decent restaurant call XOXO located just around the corner, but they're only open in the evenings from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Still, XOXO is recommended, especially to avoid having to walk too much at night for a good meal. The restaurant can be seen looking SE from the backside of the hotel.

The hotel is simple, small rooms but if you only need it to sleep it is excellent, it is very well located and the service is excellent both in front desk and in administrative staff, The hotel is a good place to go to my home state and you've got to go to my home state.
During your visit to Oaxaca, book at City Centro by Marriott Oaxaca, a hotel conveniently located in the heart of Jalatlaco, the first Magical Neighborhood in the state, and close to the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán.We understand that every guest has a different profile and particular needs, so we offer 2 types of rooms. If you will be there for several days or it is a business trip, we recommend you to visit the fitness center. This is one of the hotels in Oaxaca Downtown with a swimming pool, an ideal amenity to enjoy the weather. Our hotel is pet friendly and welcomes a dog per room under 15 kilos. A special feature is that we have one of the most colorful walls in Oaxaca used by guests and visitors to take pictures and a beautiful tree more than 200 years old. Savor traditional flavors of the Oaxaca foodat La Merced and 20 de Noviembre markets. If you prefer, go to the Magical Town of Mitla and drink mezcal. At City Centro by Marriott Oaxaca we look forward to your next vacation.

A decent hotel, ten minutes walk from the old city center cathedral and botanical garden, not too far or near. There was a tour in the hotel for travel registration, and it turned out that we charged 750 pesos per person, and transferred it to a group of 500 people the next day...
The windows in the room could not be opened, and it was a bit stuffy and had to turn on the air conditioner. The room environment can refer to the domestic Han court level.

Excellent
GGuest UserSpacious rooms, great service and restaurant. Clean premises. Hot water was plentiful in the shower and water bottles in the room everyday when they clean. Nice pool, but not heated. Only issue was wifi which dropped a lot. The front desk restarted the router but the problem remained for the 3 days I was there. For the price, this is a solid choice. Right in front of the the bus stop.
GGuest UserPros: Spacious, central hostel with cheap beds. Friendly staff, nice patio with a nice view onto Monte Alban and the city, table tennis and fitness room available. Not a party hostel. Has a kitchen. Free water and coffee. Clean. Laundry around the corner. Cons: I wasn't explained anything during the checkin, the staff speak hardly English (some don't at all which I find an absolute no-go for the size of this hostel) and the new guy there was absolutely not knowledgable about a lot of things an employee there should know. Helpful though. The kitchen equipment was bad. There was always a lack of spoons and glasses/cups. Moreover, there were no designated areas for ”I'm leaving, take this stuff if you want to” and nobody put his name and departure date onto the stuff in the fridge. I recommended those things but it wasn't implemented (although a simple piece of cardboard would have done). The room was quiet only from ~23:30 to ~07:30. Some trucks and motorbikes were extremely loud. NO internet connection directly on my room 123, but there was enough space outside to sit where there is a connection. But even there, there was sometimes 10% packetloss and a ping of >200ms depending on how many people were using the internet. Well, overall a good experience but the hotel should definately improve on the kitchen situation.
GGuest UserI will begin with the good things- The place is clean and the location is good , but terrible location if traveling on festive dates because the noise goes on all night and early morning. We arrived and were assigned to room 408 facing the side towards the church- we slept maybe for an hour the night October 29th, the band downstairs stopped playing music at 3am- then the cleaning crew around 430am and by 7am the restaurants played loud music - we asked the front desk person (Oscar) if we can get another room assigned and he said no because they were full, so we asked if we checked out after that first night if we would be penalized, he said he would check with the hotel manager, we called again and he said after speaking with the manager they agreed to only have us pay the one night we used- so we found an Air-BNB and pre-paid it for the rest of our nights- later when we came downstairs to check out at 10;30am- we were told they will charge one night penalty in addition to the one night we used, I asked to speak to the manager because that is not what was told to us on the phone- I was asked to pick up the phone in the lobby to speak with the manager- her name is Martha Carrera and she was rude from the moment shed answered the call- she didn't even try to see if she could accomodate us in another room or figure our who and why we were informed differently. The only thing this hotel has is the location and it is clean- But there are so many other beautiful options- I recommend Hotel Cecilia in Xochicilmco, 10 minute walking distance to the center- you avoid the noise, its clean beautiful, has AC , TV and includes breakfast for a little less in cost than this one.
GGuest UserPerfect place! We will certainly stay here again. The room was very clean, had a beautiful view, parking was easy and always available! The front desk staff was courteous, as well as the bell men. We didn't get to try the restaurant because the location was so close to everything we just walked about 10-15 to the center or a little bit less for the real specialty places
GGuest UserWe are a group of 17 staying here. Myself in room #311 which is a spacious junior suite. Rooms are OK, except wash basin is not really suitable for a room, rather, a restaurant. Troubles came when I overheard my friend’s laundry was missing an item. Then I quickly checked my laundry and true enough, 1 item is also missing. Right that very night I rushed to the concierge and apparently as it was a shirt, they put it on a hanger, instead of folded. Room #312 trousers were mixed up with other rooms’s trousers, luckily they were from our own group. Could you imagine if your clothes got mixed up with guests who had checked out and didn’t examine the laundry like I hadn’t? Another friend’s laundry got charged over $300 pesos for only 3 pieces. After recalculating then he only needs to pay <$50. What happened was that the receptionist charged other groups’ bill to my friend’s! Wifi was also weak and keeps disconnecting. I had to request another wifi password because mine wasn’t working despite numerous attempts, which of course was frustrating. So despite having a spacious room with 2 desks and two chairs, don’t expect to be able to conduct some meaningful work as wifi is unreliable. We chose this hotel as it is located just outside city center so to avoid heavy traffic. But this hotel really barely operates at minimum standards.
I think this place is good for a transit if you want to stay close to the busy area. The staff was very(!) helpful and tried hard to do their best. The hotel looks nice and the rooms are simple but fine. Breakfast is offered in a restaurant 300feet down the road which was very good as well. Biggest downside is the noise that may be heard in some rooms from the near by night clubs but I personally had no issue with it. Biggest problems we had : they only have those old power sockets, not the ones with the third safety pin so our adapter didnt fit, luckily tthe Hotel had one. And the wifi was a bit weird, on and off, an old wifi router. They should really take 20 bucks in the hands and update their wifi... For the money it's ok
Great boutique hotel right in the center of town with Friendly staff. Just a couple blocks away from the main plaza. The restaurant has a nice selection for all three meals and they were quite tasty too. Word of caution: don’t be cheap and park on the street. Use the garage that the hotel recommends. Our car was towed, even though it shouldn’t have been. It was a scam between the rental agency, Europcar, the towing company and the police. It didn’t spoil our overall experience in Oaxaca and we would definitely recommend this cute hotel.
GGuest UserGood sized room. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and good sized shower room with hot water. Communal area very pleasant and a shady place to chill out in the afternoon. The hotels location is almost perfect, being only minutes walk from the market and cathedral square.
