Oakhurst Lodge

Shower had obviously not been cleaned as there was the plastic protector from a disposal razor still in the shower and hair in the sink. Front desk was very friendly. Guests were disgusting. At breakfast a guy was sneezing, sniffling, blowing his nose and then touching multiple items in the food area with out washing his hands after blowing his nose.

Overpriced for budget accommodation. Room was clean. Intermittent wifi and faulty air-conditioning. Breakfast ordinary on the 1 of 3 mornings we used. Dirty smelly water leaking from swimming pool area. The town was a little run down but had basic amenities.

Very comfortable room. Everything you need at half the price of the brand name hotels in the area. Clean, great toiletries, comfortable bedding. Breakfast standard continental. Waffles and coffee good. Great location. Walk to shops and restaurants.

Typical looking motel style accomodation on arrival but below our standards and expectations. We were only staying 1 night as passing through but we wouldn't stay again unfortunately. The staff were friendly and check in and check out were quick and easy, there wasn't a hairdryer n the room but they provided one for us as soon as we asked. Nice surprise however was that we found out that a basic breakfast (bagels, muffins, juices etc) was included which we weren't aware of when booking. The room and bathroom were both a good big size. There was a fridge, microwave and kettle provided in the room. However a few things we noticed straight away was a lamp/light was out, there were no hangers, there was an iron but no board. The decor was old and tired and although the room was clean as such it all just felt a bit dirty, wood was worn away, old carpets and bed sheets etc, everything needed a redo! It was quiet at night, a chair was provided at the front where we could park outside our room. Dennys was a 1 minute drive away, we didn't see anymore of the area though.

Conveniently located just half an hour’s drive from the South Gate of Yosemite. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and with breakfast available (albeit limited). For the price the rooms were really run down. Apart from the carpet they were at least clean but felt shabby. Kids enjoyed the pool at the end of a hot day.

I reviewed this Motel on Tripadvisor due to the rate and reviews I felt confident staying at this facility. As a result of my stay, 23 May-25 May I no longer have confidence in Tripadvisor. On the front door of Oakhurst Lodge is a Tripadvisor decal. At check-in I inquired about a booking fee I was charged at the Oakhurst Lodge website. This had never occurred before when using Tripadvisor. I asked the location of the ice machine, only at this time I was told there was no functioning ice machine. Due to ants and a stale smoke odor, in a non-smoking, room I was provided another room. The room had frayed carpeting, paint spots over areas on the walls and where the lavatory counter was repaired, bathroom door was damaged from something hitting it. The outside chairs provided for the room were stained, upholstery torn with exposed foam padding. The picture of room posted on Tripadvisor gives someone considering booking this lodging a FALSE impression. One positive for Oakhurst lodge the bathroom except the window sill, lavatory, microwave, mini refrigerator and bed linens were clean. The beds linens were clean. The beds did not appear as nice as the picture displayed on Tripadvisor. I did share my concerns and that I would be writing a review about my stay with the recommendation to others to NOT stay here. The front desk person was polite and seemed receptive to my concerns. There are other places to stay in Oakhurst that provide better breakfast, a workout room, larger, better maintain rooms for about $10.00/night more. Beware of the Oakhurst Lodge.

One of our group fell and broke his ankle while out hiking in Yosemite Park. The lodge was very accommodating in allowing us to keep his belongings in his room well past check out time so his son could drive up from Novato and pick the stuff up. Much appreciated. Based on this good experience alone, we will use the Oakhurst lodge in coming years.

Nice rooms, newly renovated bathrooms. Bruce at the front desk is a really nice guy. Tells you everything you need to know about your planned trips in the region. Stopped for one night on our way from Sequoia NP to Yosemite NP and booked same day like half an hour earlier. Would definitely recommed if you are looking for a nice, but cheap room to stay.
