Our room was cold and despite putting the air con on high, it remained cold. The bathroom had no heating and was colder than the bedroom. We’ve used Premier Inn many times and never been this disappointed. The ventilation system in the lobby area outside the lift was was noisy and kept us awake. Our room (503) was next to the lift. The hotel location was good as was the breakfast and breakfast service.

What a fabulous front of house team Sarah and James make, an absolute credit to the Nelson. We needed to change room which was done without any fuss. Christmas elf in bar/restaurant, and Breakfast lady were amazing, nothing was to much trouble for any staff. Am looking forward to my next stay.

The rooms were very clean with good facilities. We had two premier rooms which we requested to be next door to each other. This request was dealt with easily and with no issues. The views from the rooms were lovely, overlooking the river. A real treat for a Premier Inn. The food was good and the meal deals worked out well for us.

Not a good visit. Our room was very dark and dingy. The bed sheets where stained. And the wifi was so slow it was unusable. I appreciate that the room price was low, but come-on Whitbread, the accommodation basics have to be usable. If you need to raise the room pricing to get this right, that’s fine by me, as it’s not working at this price-point at the moment.

Great location with easy access and parking. Hotel itself and the restaurant and bar area in desperate need of an upgrade. We upgraded to a premium room and were really impressed. Lovely river view and small extras made it worthwhile. Acres to the city is really easy, either via the river wall and by the cathedral, or his the Main Street into the shopping areas

Came for a stay with my mum and sister to visit my Nephew at Uni and go to Jarrolds Christmas evening. Had a great time and just a short drive to the hotel. Staff were friendly and made us welcome during our stay. Unfortunately my mum had a fall during the night and we needed to call an ambulance. Val, Jayne and Shel were so kind and helpful to us, checking in regularly whilst we were waiting and directed the paramedics to our room speedily. They couldn’t have done anymore. Thankfully we had a quick visit to A&E and my mum is home and recovering well, Thanks again and we hope to return soon for a slightly better visit and to enjoy our breakfast that we sadly missed!

A peaceful night's sleep, on a bed that was like sleeping on pockets of cloud's. Conveniently located for my needs, and more than happy to use again. I booked the premium room and was pleasantly surprised with the coffee machine [love my coffer] and small fridge. The waterfall shower was blissful, the only thing needed was speakers inbthe bathroom. Overall a peaceful night's sleep in a great location. The only negative i would give is the dated look of the building outside. Very conveniently located across the river to the train station.
