Sandalwood Beach Resort

This was, by far, the best getaway that we've ever had. The Hotel is very clean, as was our room, there's a beautiful pool in the center of the building, and the beach was so close we could hear the surf from our room at night. The rooms are spacious and the owners are SUPER NICE and accommodating. I highly recommend this great place to anyone wanting a nice and quiet stay on North Redington Shores!

I never felt clean! Pros: If you choose the beachside rooms, you are steps from the beach. The rooms are cold which is good when it’s really hot. The pool is heated. Cons: Overall the hotel feels dirty and ran down. We stayed in room 240, and while it had the appearance of being updated, it was still very dirty. Some of the outlets were falling off the wall, shower and bathroom was just plain gross. Not matter what I did, I just always felt dirty. If your goal is to get a room on the beach, then this hotel works. However, they are more hotels to choose from.

My husband and I just returned from our holiday at Sandalwood Beach Resort. We were there for 9 days. Over the years we have stayed at a number of different resorts relying on people reviews before booking. That said, I was a little concerned with some of the reviews, but decided to book anyway based on a ocean front room. I am so glad we did! The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The couch and chairs in the living area were also quite comfortable. We loved the balcony withe chairs and lounge chair. My one suggestion would be for guests to bring some plastic cutlery, paper plates etc as none is provided. We also found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating! We will try and come back soon!!!

we got great price for this place for 3 nights right on the beach,(compared to surrounding hotes) and now I know why! As soon as you walk in you can smell mold/mildew - which its Florida so ok. But look up at the air vent and you can see BLACK MOLD. they really need to replace filter and clean the vent of black mold. The toilet inners needed replacing (which we told them upon checkout and they didnt act interested) as it takes forever to refill for another flush, had to take the top off a few times to get it to refill. The bathroom sink was VERY slow to drain and it seemed like the water left a residue in the sink( we never drank the water) there is a microwave and mini fridge and cupboard and drawers but not one dish or utensil- so why have a kitchen? the bed was a queen which is great and it was pretty comfortable. Many pillows to choose from so that was good. they left enough linens and TP as they never came in any day to refill. we had to go to front desk to get coffee every day (they did have a keurig type coffee pot) I would not recommend this hotel even for the money, I would pay more for a cleaner environment. The pool looked okay and apparently was heated but we didnt use it. Oh and not enough parking in front. one night we had to park across the street behind the establishment, but it was lighted and we didn't leave anything in our car. The area seemed very safe around the hotels.

Pictures are misleading. Rude staff. Dirty room/shower. Very outdated. Highly over priced for what you get. Great access to beach. I feel a resort should have useable amenities and be a comfortable place to stay. This was not it.

This place overcharged my credit card $50 after a booking with reciept which plainly stated "all taxes and fees included". The man said "resort fee" was additional? The hotel is very old and outdated. Most rooms have terrible views, only a few have actual beach views. Luggage cart will not fit in elevator. What's the use? They have free parking, small lot on-site and fills early. They have a 2nd lot a half a block away with no security. This hotel was overpriced, way overpriced and a huge disappointment. We have stayed at hunreds of hotels and this one was no doubt at the bottom.

This is NOT a quiet relaxing place. If you are a young family with energetic screaming kids, this is the place for you.The pool is in the center of the courtyard and echos into every room. It has a tiny frig in the room, our "dining table" still had grape jelly on it. This is a very old motel they converted. To say its is a resort is not accurate. There is no bar or restaurant You are paying for the gorgeous beach access and parking with a place to shower.

This is a nice location on the beach. If you are here for luxury you will be disappointed. It's an old building, but efficient. Has an elevator and pool with great access to private beach. Does not include housekeeping or any items such as paper towels or kitchen utensils. Our room had been slightly upgraded but the room could use a very good dusting. The vents were covered in dust

We were booked to stay there for one week. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay there even one night. We were planning to work from the resort, but upon arriving at the property and checking in, we immediately noticed there was no working wifi in our room. We asked them to fix it and the front desk man came and confirmed we were correct, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do then. Since we had to work from home and needed wifi, we immediately checked out and had to spend WAYYY more money last minute to get a hotel that wasn't as nice but did have wifi. We didn't stay even a single night (we stayed maybe 30 mins trying to figure out the wifi and didn't even use the bathroom or touch the bed) yet they refused to refund us for this. Since it was late, the manager wasn't in so the front desk told us to call in the morning about a refund. We figured this was reasonable and left. Yet, the manager refused to even speak with us today despite our repeated calls, which we think is very rude. I get they couldn't book the place the night we didn't stay since it was late but we couldn't stay and work without the wifi they advertised, and honestly its just rude for a manager to refuse to speak to us even though the front desk people were nice. Currently disputing the charge, and do feel bad they couldn't book the place, but more annoyed that they are acting rude about it. We didn't want to drive another 45 minutes last night to stay at a motel not on the beach and pay more for less last minute but we didn't have a choice. I get that wifi isn't essential to all, but it is for my job, and if it is for yours I wouldn't stay here.
