I traveled to NKC for business. Stayed Sunday - Friday. Customer service started out amazing - with Samantha at the front desk, she was Amazing, along with the only lady working the breakfast. She was blonde with glasses and a ball cap. She had hot breakfasts out and ready 3 of the 5 days I was there everything was ready - (dishes, silverware, coffee, creamer, etc. ) on day 2, different scene. (I know this strange to write about - but you take for granted every hotel stay when everything is there- and I never write to commend them. When there's no coffee , plates, spoons, creamer etc.. it's noticeable) day two - It was 8 am - coffee was out, creamer was out, no breakfast ready - no bowls for the yogurt - etc. rang the bell, and waited. Another guy walked up and said ”where's the food” I said .. not sure, maybe it's over and that's when he said ”it's only 8” light skinned black woman came out and asked what we needed - when I asked for a bowl she said ”they're over there” I said I looked, and they are out. She just seemed like she was alone and very disorganized. She pulled the front desk person over for help and a guy from behind the kitchen stepped in. Just seemed like on the days that the lady with the glasses who seemed to have mobility issues, wasn't there- nothing was correct- coffee out, or no silverware etc. on day 4 , needed assistance at the front desk and no one is ever around during the day - my husband had to walk to Aloft Nextdoor to ask them to have the maid replenish towels and refill the shower soap. On another day I wanted to purchase something from the snack bar and again- no one at the front desk. Over all, property is beautiful, fairly clean and new. Think the a.m. staff needs work - compared to the night staff. In the early evenings I see the housekeeping constantly cleaning the lobby and common areas , front desk girls and Samantha are cheerful and always there- but during the day the a.m. staff - (with the exception of that one little lady with glasses working the breakfast) all seem a little lazy and hiding out someplace else. I love this hotel brand, but will either stay at the aloft or the element in overland on my next stay.

Got to our 1st rm there are stains all over the floor, fluids on the couch side table & wall, food on the floor, liquid stains on the walls, the wood was chipped, dirty table. 2nd room all that plus dried spit on side table. 3rd room was clean but the floors and the walls were all still stained, dirty and their was blood on the door coming into the room! The original cost of our room was 199 the room they upgraded us to was 350. There is NOOOOOO way either of those rooms were anywhere near worth the price they are currently charging for them. They admitted they need to remodel but that doesn't explain the over all filth and it doesn't explain why they are still charging the same price for those rooms. If it would let me share pictures I would because it was awful! I am very disappointed. This is were we spent our honeymoon & we loved it. We've come back multiple times since with no issues but will not be returning until they fix these issues. It was just disgusting! I am very disappointed with this whole experience it really saddens me.
Aloft North Kansas City

I have never stayed in an ALoft Hotel, but this was the closest hotel to the venue where we were attending a concert. Kansas City is somewhat of a difficult town to navigate and this place is located conveniently off Interstate 35 (or is it Interstate 29?) Right before the giant bridge (which is an architectural marvel and gorgeous) that leads to tight turn Interstate land where an array of highway numbers is so dizzying that Alexa and Siri soon become befuddled. So it’s a great place to stop especially if you are coming in at night. The hotel is conveniently located next to a beautiful Old Chicago which is brand new as well as the other joints like McDonalds. You get 20% off at Old Chicago if you are staying at the Aloft next door. Beware of the vagrants around McDonald’s and, by the way, the hotel is located on some really main rail tracks which is kinda fascinating if you like trains or really ugly if you prefer greener spaces. It seems like the place is modeled after Hilton’s Tru brand (or maybe the other way around) with quirky and cute decor. Our stay did not include breakfast although we highly recommend the Snooze restaurant which is a harrowing 15 minute drive into Kansas City (due to the aforementioned Interstate tangle which your GPS struggles to keep up with). The decor was really nice and the hotel was brand new (constructed in 2022). Beds were awesome. We got gouged by the fact that Taylor Swift was in town, $436, ugh! It’s a $150 a night property on the weekends! Room wasn’t ready, I had to fix the toilet, staff somewhat ambivalent.
