Our stay at Fort Tiracol Heritage Hotel was a fantastic experience. The village of Tiracol is located ***** the coast at the northern most tip of Goa and at the Goa Maharashtra border. The property is a 400+ year old Portuguese era heritage fort that's been restored and converted to a resort. At this property you can certainly experience solitude and peace from the crowded, noisy and often quite chaotic mainstream beaches of Goa. There are only 7 rooms (so book early) and one in house Bar and Restaurant that serves up local and continental fare. All rooms face the sea and located atop the cliff offer fantastic views of the sea and estuary and sea breeze. Two beaches are close to the property - Redi located in Maharashtra and Querim beach located within Goa. All rooms are well appointed with en suite wardrobes , well decorated bathrooms , locker and room service. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. The restaurant food is good. If you need more food options, there are 2-3 local restaurants within a 5 mins driving distance. You can also take some of the activities like the heritage walk, or the yoga session. I would definitely recommend this place for those seeking something away from the mainstream and some peace and quiet retreat.
