Spent one day here for a business trip in August 2024. Pretty clean and quiet. The staff seemed very nice and accommodating. Parking is located across the street in the parking garage for $10. My AC made a bunch of noises at night but it didn’t bother me and I was tired. Overall not a bad place.

Carpet floors in room a little worn, the bed bottom bed skirt was stained on both beds, upon entering washing my hands the sink filled with water and took more than five minutes to drain and notified front desk and was told they would send maintenance but unsure if they came because issue was still not resolved. Also informed staff of bugs(like little beetles of such) on bed when checked in and staff response at front desk was oh ok more rushed off. I feel as a marriott member my special requests are never met with them anymore. Location was fine.

I had to fly to Norfolk for my brother's funeral. It was a tragic experience to say goodbye to a family member. My stay at the Marriott helped me in so many ways. They found me a handicapped room, serviced breakfast every morning, and most importantly, I felt safe. Thank you!

First, the good: helpful staff, great location. Pleasant accommodation. Then, the bad for those who need mobility accessible rooms. The toilets are too low! Had to use the one on the ground floor, which was perfect. So, why aren't the ones in the individual rooms the same? Deal breaker! If they fix this, I'd love to stay again. Otherwise, impossible!

Visited the Springhill Suites in Norfolk for an overnight stay as I was in town to go see the Matt Rife show. This location is right in the heart of ODU and about 10-12 minutes from downtown Norfolk. It’s in walking distance of a variety of restaurants. I requested early check in at 2pm as I was going to be arriving early. When I arrived around 2:15, room wasn’t ready but they gave a parking pass and recommendations on where to eat. When we got back from lunch, the room was ready. First note - hotel elevator moves superrrrrr slow. Lol just a random observation but I was like geeze! I always request high floor and near elevator and they applied both of those requests. Our room was very clean and smelled great. The carpet was worn out but not a big deal for an overnight stay. We checked out at 5:30 am. I did use points for this stay but I couldn’t imagine paying $180+ (I’m used to employee rates). Didn’t get to try

Arrived 1:oo am Saturday a.m. opened closet to put our bags in. Did t know tge closet was off th track and it fell snd hit in me the back of my head as I walked away. Called front desk to report it but no one ever answered the phone. Had to wait til Saturday later on around 9:30ish made tge report but was never given a copy of the report was told that they couldn’t give it out until the supervisor returned snd that wouldn’t be until Tuesday after Memorial Day. Took grands to the pool. The water was suppose to be heated indoors but it wasn’t.( very chilled) the breakfast bar was good . They offered bacon, scrambled eggs and other items. Housekeeper was very helpful and accommodating. Maintenance came to remove the door( closet) said they would repair if once we left. They don’t repair rooms while you’re in it. That’s what we were told. This hotel would be my last choice if I couldn’t find anything else economical. It was good for my grands though with a microwave, refrigerator, cups and plates. We were on a business trip with the family. Our nephew was having his wedding reception and this was my spouses first trip with all of his grands.

I will offer an average review. My family stayed for a week. I slept 2 nights out of the whole week. Beware of room 201. There is a dumpster emptied daily at 830 am. It's next to a staircase. People are banging their doors all day and night. I called a complained. I never do that. It s near the college. They bus in teams everyday. Some kids good and quite and some party till 1am. Claim to have a hot tub they filled it in. Pool loop warm at best to cold. The sports bar closed at 4pm on a Saturday. To be positive clean. Friendly hardworking staff. Location was cool. sports bar had good food. Internet is reliable. Breakfast was good but never again. You pay too much too not sleep and hear doors banging all day and night.

The rooms are definitely in need of an upgrade. The shower/bath faucets leak for awhile after using. The best part for me was the staff. I arrived early after flying in on a red eye and asked for early checkin. She was able to get me into a room after a couple of hours! I was given a room on the 5th floor and I noticed the wall was vibrating in the sitting room, but I thought it would be okay when I went to sleep. I did not sleep well and let the front desk know and she was able to change my rooms right away. She later found out that the fifth floor (top floor) vibrates due to the airconditioning or other pipes and such on the roof. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest getting a lower floor room. Breakfast was okay. There are not many options, but the staff is quick to make sure that everything is well stocked. Housekeeping always greeted me in the hallways with a smile and a hello. I think the rate is high for the current state of the rooms, but the location to ODU was very convenient for me.

Stayed here in a suite with a family of 4. There were 3 towels, nbd, but we were unable to get an additional towel despite multiple attempts. The “front desk button” on the phones did not work. Stopped by the front desk in person to ask for a towel, was told one would be brought up but no one ever did. The room itself was ok but in need of some maintenance. No covers on the yellowed box springs, bathroom doorknob was the wrong size for the door and hanging by a thread. Don’t think we would stay here again.
