Room was clean and modern; check-in and check-out were both fast. Breakfast is simple but good. Pretty good value overall and has an indoor pool

I arrived on a very late flight to Norfolk on July 1 and had to make last-minute plans to stay overnight. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who was working the front desk that night - I called just minutes before midnight and she was able to quickly book me so my stay would be on July 1 and not 2. She was SO helpful and kind and I was in the most comfortable king room as soon as I arrived - with her offer of a complimentary late check-out due to my very late-night arrival. I could not be more grateful to her for truly going above and beyond to make sure I had an excellent experience - even so last-minute. She was a treasure and I will absolutely be booking at this hotel (… not minutes before midnight!) the next time I fly through Norfolk.

I am posting again for the fact I’m shocked that the “owner” didn’t respond to my 81 bed bug bite issue! Does anyone have any idea how it feels to be bitten by 81 bed bug bites? It’s unbearable, horrible, and painful! I am still laughing at what a joke the hotel is for not even following up with me to see how I was doing! Markel Jackson is the new GM! let’s see what he says 😩

So it was a quick in and out . Dropped car off at airport and just needed place with a shuttle for the morning. The two shuttle drivers were excellent. The lady who checked me in and the young guy who checked me out , both very good as well. Service was good , but the customer interaction was even better .

I have been a Hilton honors customer for years. I had booked a mid week stay and the website glitched to the wrong day. I requested the date be corrected once I found out about it. The hotel manager said it was a “no Show and the charge is valid and will remain.” This was the most petty, unreasonable answer. I would stay away from this and ALL Hampton Inns. They are run by near illiterates with no sense of allegiance. I will never stay with any of the Hilton brands again. They treat customers like garbage.

When we walked in our room, it smelled like a skunk. I believe someone who stayed in it before us had been smoking meth. We did report it to the front desk and they sent someone from maintenance with two different deodorizer sprays. We sprayed with Lysol, but it only masked the odor but did not eliminate it completely. We did complain again when we checked out that morning but only got an “I’m sorry” from the front desk clerk. Beinvolved an honors member, perhaps they could have offered another room if they had a handicap accessible room available or they could have offered a discount on my “skunk”room.

The room wasn’t very clean . The desk clerk wasn’t welcoming upon arrival, she actually appeared to had been sleeping . We arrived late. The location was perfect and the breakfast was a good continental breakfast. Wouldn’t be my choice in hotel in the future

Bed was hard and pillows were extremely flat. One pillow was too flat, two pillows just a bit too high. Ended up having to fold two bath towels and place them under one pillow to align neck properly but you could still feel the hardness of the towels through the pillow.

Had a bad experience with this property last week. Monday evening I had a flight cancelled but was able to rebook out of Norfolk for early the next morning. I quickly made a hotel reservation and hit the road. A bit over an hour into the trip I hit standstill traffic and since I was within 30 minutes of the property I went ahead and did the mobile checkin so I could just use the digital key when I got there. My mistake! Shortly after that, I got notice that my rebooked flight was cancelled. I quickly called the property to ask if they could grant mercy and not charge me for the room night since I was now turning around and heading home. The desk agent I spoke with was sympathetic but said since I had done the check in, there was nothing she could do. She suggested I call and speak with the manager the next morning when she arrived at 9:00 am. I asked her if she could leave a message about the situation and she said she would include it in her email to the manager that night. Tuesday morning shortly after 9:00 am I called to speak with the manager and got her voice mail. Left a detailed message. No return call. Wednesday morning I called and again had to leave a message. No return call. Friday morning I called again and got the lady I had talked to Monday night. I asked for the manager and she said "let me go talk to her." Then came back and asked what it was in reference to. I briefly went over the scenario and told her I believed we had talked Monday night. She again said she would go tell the manager. Next think I know, the phone rings and I get the voice mail of another person I haven't heard of before, not the manager. I left a third voice mail. At this point, I know I'm never getting a refund. But my problem now is the lack of professionalism. If you are the manager of a property, you have to deal with things. The fact that there was no courtesy to just give me a call back or even speak to me when she was obviously there is unacceptable.
