A private family run hotel and you could understand why it is so good. The staff were interested and very helpful, attentive at all times and creating a really friendly vibe. First time at the hotel and will recommend it !

Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks.

The staff at Islington were second to none and made the whole stay brilliant. The spa was quiet (we went in low season) and relaxing, and being nestled in Dartmoor gave plenty of opportunities to explore. We also made use of the lounges at the front of the hotel to play board games on a particularly rainy day.

We stayed as a couple, who were visiting relatives in the area. This was a perfect base and also within easy reach to Torquay and other surrounding areas. Thank you to Ellie for arranging such a lovely, spacious room. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of options available. We stayed for 2 nights and used the Spa twice. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and I can imagine how beautiful it would be sitting outside during the summer months. We will definitely return.

Very comfortable hotel but the absolute highlight is the wonderful food! Bed very comfortable. My husband and daughter enjoyed the swimming pool and spa area.

We were travelling back from Cornwall and decided to extend our holiday by a few more days, it was the perfect ending to the holiday. The food and service were excellent as always and we felt well looked after.
