The Greenwich Hotel

Warm, proactive, approachable, and thoughtful service. A true home away from home and a wonderful oasis in the midst of all the hustle and bustle. Shamar (so sorry re spelling) at the front desk bookended a wonderful stay. The gym / spa folks are lovely. The courtyard and lounge and lobby cozy and peaceful. Everything was exactly right. Truly looking forward to our next stay.

We usually stay uptown but followed the advice of a friend and tried this Tribeca neighborhood gem. We had a junior suite which faced the street, but because it is enveloped with seemingly sound proof bricks, or some other technology that is not apparent, we heard not a blip from the street below. The room itself is casually hip, with every detail seemingly thought through, from the retro style snacks to the super comfy bed; we enjoyed the room almost as much as the public areas. I always admire nice bathrooms with sexy showers! The hotel feels as if it's been plucked out of an Anne Rice novel (or maybe New Orleans) because it has an undercurrent of darkness, with a sexy, verdant, sultry feel to it. There are deep cushioned chairs and couches throughout the lounge, situated perfectly next to "reading" lamps that make everyone's complexion look good. The food at the restaurant was jaw-droppingly delicious. Service was professional but unfussy. The gym is well stocked and great for a workout while traveling. The Tribeca location is awesome too, right next to the River Park, which is a great place to walk or run. We didn't have a glimpse of the famous owner, but we felt like we were in a movie ourselves. I'd go back at the drop of a hat.

A lovely hotel stay in the city! And the staff is extremely kind and accommodating!! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who lives in the city or visiting. The hotel is high end and feels it but doesn’t feel stuffy or uncomfortable. We will be planning another stay here in the future ~

Lovely and charming, this hotel is a gem! The staff is so kind and friendly. Rooms are large, and stocked with wonderful toiletries and the most fun snacks. Locanda Verde is there as well, how lucky! Spa and gym are fantastic as well. If you are able to stay here, you won’t regret it. The neighborhood is very cool, lots of boutiques that you’ll love!

The Greenwich is more than a hotel. It's an oasis in the city where the staff are beyond accommodating and the environs are incredibly well thought out. Every touch is as though it was meant to be and you find yourself saying "of course it should be that way". The outdoor garden atrium is such a pleasant place to have breakfast and catch up with a book or newspaper - you won't want to leave. If money were no object I would consider taking up residence there.

‘Is New York the city without service? ‘ This is exactly what crossed our minds when we checked out of The Greenwich Hotel in March: Front of house staff are disinterested & one staff member was belligerent, we were shocked & upset by this. The rooms are very average & not particularly well thought out for a 5 star hotel, they lack attention to detail. The drawing room is dark and members of staff are hostile, we actually felt too uncomfortable to stay in the room for a coffee, so we just left. The hotels finance department made several errors. The only positive is Locanda Verde restaurant. We had breakfast here. Our waiter was excellent, the food was great & we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The restaurant wasn’t busy but it was nice to see a handful of New Yorkers enjoying both the great food & vibe. Since our return, we took time and verbally communicated our disappointment to the UK based Sales Manager but all we have received is an email from the Front Office Manager that lacked both fact & sincerity. Thankfully, the remainder of our stay at The Carlyle was fabulous and we experienced ‘Exceptional service in New York City’.
