voco ST. JAMES HOTEL by IHG

Amazing location, amazing hotel, nice and clean with a cute pool and super friendly staff. A big thank you to Sean who was super helpful and friendly during my stay. The room I had was super spacious and the air conditioner was super cold. The only thing though is that every few minutes the air conditioner would make a grinding noise and would sometimes wake me up if I was in a more shallow sleep but it was bearable. The bathroom amenities were great and smelled amazing. I just don’t understand why there is no bottled water supplied in the rooms.

The hotel has character which fits the New Orleans experience quite well. It’s an older heritage building but is charming. It was very rainy during my stay, and my first room had a strong damp smell, so the staff moved me upon request… second room was much better. Ik sure the dampness is associated with the age of the classic building. Basic sort of breakfast in a small bar area… but quite cute. Front desk reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Location is excellent, great if you don’t mind a short walk to the French Quarter and canal street and Bourbon street is really just around the corner.

My wife and I arrived for a getaway. We found the location and hotel to be perfect. The staff so kind and friendly. We have decided to come back again and stay here again.

Great location and beautiful interior

This hotel was beautiful and pictures didn’t do it justice. My husband and I came to New Orleans to elope and they were so nice to let us use their courtyard. Not only that, they gave us a complimentary breakfast and free champagne. I would definitely stay again!

Hotel is dated in comparison to their website photos. Although the rooms and public areas were generally clean, the quality was hit and miss (we’ve had a dead gecko and empty glasses in our room all week). That said, location was great, central to the French Quarter and only a short walk from Bourbon Street. Staff were really friendly though

Just awful. My room had no hot water, the air conditioner was broken and there was a huge street lamp right outside my window - with no proper black out curtains, I may as well have slept with the light on for three nights. To top it all off, my friend found someone else's dirty underwear under his bed. This place is filthy, with a rat infested courtyard and very little attention paid to the basic elements of a comfortable hotel stay. In fairness, their staff is great and tried their best, but they need to elevate their basic quality standards to justify the price.
