Our initial plan was to visit San Antonio and stay in a hotel in the city. We're so glad we didn't! We loved staying at Kuebler Waldrip Haus and learning about its history and the family who lives here. Eating a delicious breakfast with the owners, Margie and her son Darrell Waldrip was a great way to start our 3 days. We stayed in the porch room in the schoolhouse, which is roomy enough for 2, includes a kitchenette and a porch, which has a view of the sunrise and the surrounding countryside. One of our best memories is sipping on a glass of wine on a beautiful day in the patio garden with Margie, Darrell and the baby deer they've rescued. Loved the peace and quiet at the B&B instead of staying in the city of San Antonio, but we did spend a day in the city and took a River Walk boat ride. Best dinner we had was at the Alpine, a German restaurant in New Braunfels.
