Castle Hotel
"Located in the heart of the town, a 3-minute walk from the train station, with a shopping street down the back street, and about a 5-minute walk from the large Morrison supermarket. The service is excellent, but the facilities are a bit outdated."

"We stayed in room 2 for a week while we were waiting for our house to complete and after reading the reviews wasn't expecting much. We can safely say the reviews must be of a different place, from booking the room we were greeted by the manager, who was very friendly, polite and professional, he showed us to our room explained how we get in after ours etc, nothing seemed to much trouble for him or his staff During our stay we never wanted for anything, if we needed fresh towels, more tea and coffee etc we just asked and within minutes it was with us, the room was tidy and clean and cosy, I would have no worries about staying here again"
Holiday Inn Express SWANSEA - EAST by IHG
"The hotel has what you need for a stopover and is convenient for the m4. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Parking is convenient and free. Small bar to relax in after a long drive. Bed was comfortable and overall it is very reasonably priced for a family room for 2 adults and a teenager. It is quite frustrating that no plug sockets are close to the bedside. Check-in was quite slow however the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The lift was broken, which was not a problem for us but we stayed here last October and it also broken then as well. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Was really good that they provide a takeaway coffee cup and bag to take breakfast to go if you are in a hurry or have a teenage son that didn’t get up in time for breakfast 🙂"
Towers Hotel & Spa
"The room facilities are old, but the environment is good, many people come here for a weekend holiday."
Sgwd Gwladys Lodge
"So very disappointed with this experience as we had wanted to visit for a while after seeing their instagram account. Table - as soon as we arrived we realised how small the restaurant actually is, it’s more of a cafe. We were seated in a lovely booth before being told we needed to move as they had a larger party to accommodate. We were very happy with the booth so were not pleased with being told to move. We were then moved to a tiny, sticky table with tin chairs right next to the bar where servers were trying to pass us and kept bumping into our table as there was no room to even breathe. Food - don’t expect to know what drinks they serve as there’s not a drinks menu which I thought was incredibly odd. We ordered an eggs Benedict and the smaller version of the full English but without two of the items and with an extra sausage. The sausages were tough, the beans were cold, the toast wasn’t toasted, the eggs were cold and contained what seemed to be a black hair or fur, the bacon was missing half the rasher. As for the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise was bland, the poached egg was overcooked and the toast again was just warm bread. The utensils they provided were dirty so we had to ask for new and we were not provided with napkins until we asked for new, clean utensils. Upon paying I noticed there was a charge for the extra sausage even though we removed two items from the full English - could the sausage not have just been included in the cost at that point? We were not asked if we enjoyed our food which we left much of due to finding the hair/fur and I didn’t want to bring it up without being asked. Upon leaving I messaged a friend who said she had visited a number of times before and enjoyed her experience to find out she returned a few days ago, was sat in the same horrible place we were and said the food had massively been affected due to a change of chef and that she wouldn’t be returning after seeing a number of people recently posting poor reviews. This was definitely not an experience worth £30, I’m not sure if it would’ve been worth half"
