Rodeway Inn Silver Creek Inn

The room was spotless, the staff were friendly, there were no issues with noise or other guests. The in-room air conditioner can be used to mask any road noise and both of us got two great night’s sleep. A fantastic experience. This is no mere hole in the wall motel.

I was on hold for 15 minutes on the phone just to confirm my reservation, and then the representative from wyndham call center tried to get more and more info and signed me up for their marketing email lists and signed me up for their rewards without even asking for my permission. i have experienced wyndhams pushy sales people before, but doing this when i just call to confirm reservation?

I was looking for a place to stay within reasonable driving distance of Monument Valley that was not one of the big hotel chains (and didn't have big-hotel-chain prices), and this inn fit the bill, without skimping on amenities. The room was attractive, comfortable and very clean. We could park right outside the door. The breakfast room offered hot foods, fruit, yogurt, etc. The staff was very gracious and helpful. We spent three nights there in October and the inn was full every night with guests from around the world, so I recommend making a reservation. The inn is not on Highway 160 with the other hotels. Head north through the town on Highway 163, the road to Monument Valley, and you’ll find it on the left. Kayenta is a small town, so driving to a restaurant for dinner is easy.

Overall: Remember the line 'you get what you pay for'? Well this place is true to that saying. It was a bargain. We booked it as it was close to the 'centre' of town, but when a town that is 2-3 miles long along one road, the term 'centre' is slightly irrelevant. Turns out 'most guests' are there for longer stays whilst working in the area or between homes. Reception: No complaints on arrival. We were shown to our room pretty quickly. We had a problem one evening using the electronic number pad to get back into our room which at 10pm at night was a royal PITA. We were then told the following morning that there was 'nothing wrong with the lock' which I am not sure is true. Room: See my comment in the first section. The room was perfectly fine but a bit odd in terms of layout. The bed was great but there was a whirlpool bath in the room plus a shower/bath combination and toilet in the bathroom but the sink was in a separate space by the small kitchen space where there was a microwave, a fridge freezer and a kitchen sink. Food: No food in the motel, but loads in the town. We had a great meal, albeit where the steak's were overcooked in ????? But our favourite place was The Den, or The Lion's Den to give it it's full name. I have done a separate review of it here ????? Staff: Nothing to complain or write home about. The communication with staff was fine and all our questions were answered perfectly well. Return: Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Overall I liked this hotel but there was no blanket on the bed and was pretty cold. Also the shower was either very hot or too cold, that was strange for a hotel. The breakfast was ok but not great, not a big selection. There were microwave burritos, but no microwave in the breakfast area. The pancake machine was cool and the pancakes were good but it needed fixing many times in the time I was in there. There was cereal and apples, muffins, juice and coffee. Was enough but would like a little more selection, and yogurt would have been nice. The room was roomy with a little couch and desk. The tv was large and had the Vizio streaming and a dish box and remote was there but did not seem to work. I liked the location sort of off the beaten path.
