We were looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary. We like boutique hotels and Boath House did not disappoint. From the minute we were welcomed by Emma to the minute we left we loved our stay. Our room -room 3- was perfect for our special stay. The rooms are decorated in a minimalist style with various artefacts on show throughout the house reflecting the artist owner’s careful selections. The service is wonderful. The staff are welcoming and engaging. We had a wonderful meal. We explored the walled garden and the grounds and loved the late autumn colours. We’d love to come back in the summer to enjoy the gardens in full bloom. This is a very special place indeed.

Unbelievable…but real B&B about 30 mins outside Inverness and 20 minutes from the airport. Just off the main road is an oasis of several acres of trees and gardens and a B&B. Beautiful large main building housing the restaurant, sitting room and perhaps guest rooms. Beyond that are cottages and our 4-room (all small) apartment called The Writer’s Room. We walked from the main house through a beautiful English country garden to get there. Stunning, even in September w grasses, blooming plants and pebble paths. Just beyond that is an orchard of fruit trees..we picked an apple plus fresh apples and plums were in a bowl in our room. The four rooms included a small bathroom w shower (sorry, no bath), a large writers room that included a desk, two sitting chairs and a fireplace, and a small kitchen that led into the bedroom. Towels were plush and large. The space was cozy with beautiful wooden beams across each one of the rooms. And wait, for the best part. From our greeting at the front door to all of the servers at the restaurant, all of the hotel staff were young, sprightly and extremely personable. We did not pre-book our restaurant reservations, but we probably should have. The restaurant was definitely a destination restaurant. We had options of either two or three course à la cart menu or a 7-course surprise menu. We opted for the à la cart and it was truly wonderful. The plating and food were Michelin quality but at a slightly lesser price point. Our only disappointment was that we only booked this for night and that we had to depart at 6 AM for a very early flight. Next time we will stay for at least two nights. Kudos to management and the staff.

We stayed for two nights and truly loved our stay. Our room was elegant but comfortable (and came with a bonus private orangery space with sky lights and yoga mats). Breakfast was delicious. The setting of the property is stunning - gorgeous grounds, the walled garden, pond etc. all of the staff were kind, friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. We ate in the restaurant both nights which was truly delicious, elegant food, and incredible value. A few things worth noting for other guests - the dinner menu doesn’t change daily and is only three choices for each course - we were more than happy to eat there two nights running (it is that good!) but beyond that, you may want to ask when the menu updates. You also need to pre book the sauna both for them to heat it up and because they only allow for private bookings for each guest so plan ahead! We very much hope to be back at the Boath house at a later date!!!

Beautiful gardens, rooms so so stylish and comfortable. This is not a hotel but a guest house, with a great chef and lovely places to draw and soak in the beautiful countryside. A trip to Cawdor Castle is a must. Breakfast and dinner was a delight, very light meals but yummy.

It is always a treat to visit this special hotel, whether to stay or just dine. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the ambience is wonderful, allowing you to "chill" as soon as you step out of your car. As well as the house being beautiful, the gardens definitely enhance the experience and are certainly worth a still round.

There's a lot to like about this boutique hotel with an informal feel in a beautiful Georgian house. The house has atmosphere, and the grounds are gorgeous. The food served in the small dining room is exceptional. I liked much about it, although being woken up at 8.30 on a Sunday morning by hoovering of the room above wasn't appreciated. Some of the furniture in the guest areas was a bit odd - tiny little boudoir type chairs that were not sittable on, for example, and probably put there for show rather than use. All in all a pleasant one night stay, but at the pricier end by comparison.

We stayed in the writing studio and it was delightful. A wee sanctuary on our trip around the north of Scotland. A special mention to the restaurant and kitchen team, our meal was amazing. I loved the added touch of leaving paper and pencil in the writing studio, spent a happy hour sketching our cottage in the walled garden.

Weather was cold and wet and our room was somewhat cool upon arrival. The wood burning stove did not work. Bath was enormous with both bath and shower, but only 1 6 inch mirror near the small sink. Shelf above the sink abutted over the sink making it very difficult to wash your face or even rinse your mouth. Bathroom amenities were minimal.. No American adapters available. Food was good, but the Sun Dancer in Nairn was better. Breakfast was a particularly leisurely affair. Our last day it took 1 hour and 15 minutes! We were told everyone came at once, which wasn’t true.

We had the drawing room. Heat wasn’t working. Blind broke. Service slow in restaurant, took over an hour for breakfast. Had to find the manager who was in a closed office and didn’t seem interested in her clients. Hard to find anyone to help before 9 or after 5
