Come in for the food (a bit slow today) and stay for the service. Polite, very happy and professional. Bruce foresaw our needs and was on it. The place was busy and he shot around stressfree and very funny. We hope to see you again soon. Cheers. Another stay for faster food.

Lovely afternoon tea very good value for money and happy they do gf . But omg a massive parking fine while eating there - a very nasty surprise. Definitely not risking coming again. I’m talking £100 fine for parking over lunch on a weekday . Very upsetting

We love Egypt Mill but will never visit again until they change the rogue parking operator they've engaged to run their car park. Despite us and family entering our car registrations in the entrance terminal, all of us have received letters demanding a £100 fine. To make things even better, these letters all arrived weeks after the 14 day deadline after the 'issue date' which would reduce the fine to £60. Calls to this company are a waste of time - they simply ignore all evidence and protest and continue to demand payment. Absolute scam and a rip-off. We've visited numerous times and spent hundreds over the years but never again until they take a stand against this rogue parking operator, who has even been called out on national television recently.

We stayed here for one night because the location was ideal for a tour at a local vineyard. We would have happily stayed for several nights longer too. We couldn’t fault the hotel. Plenty of free parking, the bedroom was immaculate and peaceful too. The food was great. We were there for the steak night and had the most delicious, and perfectly cooked steak. The bar is full of history and relaxing by the pond just the tonic! What really made our stay perfect was the service we received from the lovely staff. From breakfast through to dinner they were attentive, without being overtly so, friendly, humourous, professional and looked after us, and everyone we saw, absolutely brilliantly. Your staff are a real credit to you Egypt Mill! We’d thoroughly recommend Egypt Mill and we’ll certainly return.

Stayed here for 1 night while visiting the area for a wine tour and tasting at Woodchester nearby. There is no proper reception area as such just a check in corner with a computer operated by whoever comes to greet you to the left of of the bar so don't expect lots of information about or activities in the area and no info left in the rooms either. Our "Classic" room (28) was in a separate converted building, top floor at the end of a corridor so was mainly quiet apart from a little noise from the nearby main road (we left the window open as it was such a warm night) Room and bathroom very clean, King size bed was comfy, tea and coffee making facilities provided and homemade cookies greeted us on arrival, nice touch. A decent quality hairdryer was provided with plug socket next to a mirror with decent lighting. Walk in shower was fine though the temperature fluctuated a bit and nice toiletries provided together with a heated wall mirror. Biggest flaw in the room was the toilet roll holder! it was positioned in such a way the that it was impossible to sit on the toilet without it ramming into your legs, whichever position you manoeuvred yourself into and we both came home with bruises on our thighs! We mentioned this at checkout but not really interested in our thoughts and see from earlier reviews that this is not the first time that guests have complained about it so surprised it hadn't been addressed/fixed by now. Breakfast next morning was fine, my eggs benny was particularly good and Mr W's full English was "OK" when they arrived after a good 20 minute wait. Limited cold selection offered and they were slow to top up the croissants and juice when it got a bit busier after we arrived but service was friendly and attentive with offers of hot drink top ups. In summary we enjoyed our stay and would return but not to stay in room 28!

Great waiter. Horribly slow execution from kitchen. The poor man was running about whilst five other staff were standing at the bar. He just about controlled the room laughing, smiling, but the food came out very slow and in some cases we saw wrong or poorly cooked presentations. I realize now that because the outside was busier it looked like the restaurant was not being tended to but the lack of organization seemed to add to the kitchens demise. The one time i saw someone else take an order it was from a new table and the people beside them were still waiting order drinks. Just not on! I am afraid too that the cleanliness is sub par. One of our gammons came out on a dirty plate crusty egg from breakfast i presumr. Bruce removed the plate immediatly and supplied us with a new gammon. No charge. The bar is quite messy and you can see filthy cups on the coffee maker. We shall not return. Sorry Bruce.

We stayed for 2 nights and attended our daughter and son in laws wedding in August. The setting is amazing, the food was lovely and it was a wonderful couple of days. Lauren and the team ensured that everything ran smoothly and at no point did we have to stress or worry about anything. She and the other staff truly made sure that all the needs of the bride, groom and guests were fulfilled and we can’t thank them enough. If you are considering a wedding at Egypt Mill we would truly recommend it.

Always came to the mill,unfortunately,of late it has gone down hill fast The food is cold plates are cold Terrible customer service No one asks if your food is ok In fact no one bothers if your there or not It’s like your doing them a favour being there It’s expensive and you expect more if your paying that sort of money. Lovely setting just staff need a shake up And the kitchen staff need to get retrained I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Whenever my family come over to visit, we have always taken them to the Egypt Mill. The food and service has always been perfect! However, since being taken over by Honeycomb, it doesn't feel the same anymore. The food is often cold and not presented in the same way. The service is slow and not all staff seem to bothered. When we visited a week ago, it was a Sunday and fairly quiet but nobody came over to ask how our food was. I don't like to leave a poor review, but it used to be one of my favourite places to bring family and friends, now, I think i'll give it a miss for a while.
